The batter that orginally came with my laptop was awful, within the first year it only held 3 hours or less of battery life and after the first year it stopped holding a charge, so I decided to order the extended life batter and so far it is working great it was supposed to offere 6 to 8 hrs of life and its more on the low end but its so much better than my old one. Since its Extended it is very heavy and it sticks out quite a bit on the bottom of my laptop but it works great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

HP 12 cell Extended Life Battery--well named

This battery is not only incredibly long lasting, it provides a solution to a totally different problem than short battery life. The added depth (physical size) of the battery raises it off the table allowing for air to circulate under the laptop. This position also makes it easier to use the keyboard.
This is a definite buy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent battery

Yes, it's a big battery, almost the size of a large cable tv remote. It's certainly going to make the laptop heavier but I do like the extra tilt it gives to the laptop.
Battery life seems decent but my laptop (a dv6-1253cl) produces a lot of excess heat and is probably wasteing much of the battery life.
The Documentation is poor but at least it's in 30 different languages.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I chose to spend the extra money on the extended life battery. I was disappointed that there were no instructions on how to install or condition the battery. Luckily I do know enough about battery use to search for it on the computer, but this was also not easy to find. However, the battery is conditioned and so far I am impressed with how long it holds a charge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unexpected feature being able to charge battery while removed from laptop, a real plus!

This battery tends to fall out of the laptop on a regular basis due to it's weight. It's a pain in the you know where...

Old (original) battery was dying. i was never happy w/ life of original at any rate. Never got a full 2 hours out of it..This battery, tho a little pricier has very good life. I have only been using bit a short time & am unsure as to full hour capability, but have exceeded 5 hours w/ life still remaining. HeaVIER AND BULKIER THEN ORIGINAL but this hasn't been a problem w/the way I use this. The extra size actually allows the laptop to sit at a very comfortable pitch. I prefer this angle. So far so good... Item was shipped soon after order and was received within a few days. Very good service here.

Folk: This was so easy to setup. How do I know? My 4 yr old daughter unboxed the item, attached it to my laptop and turned on my laptop to start charging ... all within 4 miuntes. Too easy!
