Greatly Improved Batterey Time

I purchased the 12 cell extended battery and I am very happy with the time I am getting before I have to plug in. Even at full power I am averaging around four hours of battery time. If you tweek your settings you can get around six hours easy. My old battery ( not extended ) was around an hour if I was Lucky, however it was on it's last leg. So if your looking for a replacement battery for your HP laptop, I highly recommend purchasing the extended battery. For around $20.00 more it's well worth the money.
P.S. It does stick out about an inch further than the original battery but that actually improves air circulation under your laptop and helps keep it cooler. And it also raises the keyboard for easier typing. so it's a win, win! :-)

For the price, why aren't they better?

My last 12 cell battery lasted 14 months! Ridiculous for the price. This new one is suppose to give me 8 hours of continued use - 4, maybe 5, is more like it. I can't imagine how short it would be with the smaller one. I am not adventurous enough to buy something that is not HP, but next time I will do more checkiing around. My IT tech said to be careful what I buy, so I am. What can you do?

I don't know what some people are doing with their laptops, but my 12-cell battery lasts at least 4-5 hours. I let it run down completely most of the time before plugging it in, and then I make sure to charge it overnight, and I have had great success with battery life. The only problem I have with it is its weight. It is a cumbersome thing. I usually separate the battery from the computer when I'm carrying it, and put it in another case or bag. That distributes the weight better. For my purpose, it has worked great!

Very happy with it. I like that the battery sticks out on the bottom because it helps keep the air flowing. The big mistake I made with my last battery was always leaving it plugged in and over charging it. won't make that mistake again. I plan on having this battery for a long time. so if it's charged unplug it and learn from my mistake :)

Hat off for the rapid delivery although in end of year season... and did not pay extra...Excellent to view movies - by the way thats why I need this more. Previously for hindi movies which are quite long , I had to watch in 2 sessions. Besides now I can wander with my laptop wherever I want even for official or personal work to do . The only ? is that I must remember to remove the battery when am connected to electricity as I believe it is worn out more quickly.

My HP G60 Notebook is a great computer and is a very good investment for me.The only drawback and I knew this when I purchased it was that the battery life was short due to the amount of memory.The regular 6 cell batteries new would last exactly2 hrs as they got used it shortened real fast to barely 1 hr but no to my disbeleif this 12 cell is lasting well past 3hrs :-) and I'm enjoying that!!And the fit is good and the bonus is it lifts the back up to a pretty nice angle,

12 cell battery- it's a lead anchor!

The weight of the battery makes my laptop now a desktop. I had no choice the small battery that came with the HP G-60 quit along with several other functions with this laptop. Other reviews told me not to go back to the orginal 30 minute battery. One good feature is that my laptop can now breath- the processor heat is intense. I hope HP goes back to basics an just builds computers that work & stay working. I've experience failure with 2 of these laptops within 18 months- way too much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My original battery was about gone so I purchased a battery on internet that was supposed to be a direct replacement from some off breed company. That battery was terrible and I returned it to the outfit that sold it. Then I did what I should have did in the first place and bought a battery from HP. It was here in two days. It was half charged when it came and I ran it two hours before recharging. The battery seems to go forever or most of the day anyway. Not sure of the life but I certainly have not been worried because it has plenty of juice.
The battery is larger but it sets laptop screen up slightly which has made typing easier for me. I feel that this also allows for heat to escape too.
I am a happy camper.
