Loving my Decisions

I loved this product from the first picture taken! I would recommend this camera to anyone. The face detection, stabilizer, light adjustment are just wonderful; not to mention the recording feature. Its great for those times when the kids are doing something you just don't want to miss. I have had no problems figuring things out, I just had to play around with the features for a while.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Pocket ( 2nd ) Camera

My PowerShot A1100 IS was purchased as a "pocket" camera. I wanted a camera I could carry in my pocket easily, filling the nitch between a cell phone camera and my SLR. The A1100 does that quite well.
I like the viewfinder, which lets me turn off the LCD display and save battery life. I also like the "AA" batteries which are available everywhere. ( I use rechargeable Lithium Ion )
Controls are a bit small for my hands, but a justifiable trade-off for the compact size of the camera. Lens is sharp enough for day to day shooting, and the image stabilization is also a plus for sharp images. I have used this camera for 2½ months, indoors and outdoors, and although I haven't used all the bells & whistles yet, I am pleased with it
Pros: Nice features/settings, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Clear and Fast

I used the A1100 IS to shoot a senior play in my bldg. I was able to shoot close-ups and then zoom out to take some wide angle photos. On my tripod and back drop cloth, I make a photo album of the 197 residents here. The auto setting made folks think that I had done this for a career in the past. LED screen lets me and the subject review the photo before I put it in the album.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

The reason I chose to buy this camera was because it was one of a few that had an optical viewfinder and was powered by regular AA batteries. It was also bigger than most lower priced cameras that fit my hands perfectly.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Met all my expectations

I was in the market for a compact digital camera to use for photographing my dj shows to post pics on my business site and get pics of my new grandson. I didn't want a bottom end camera but didn't want to spend a lot of money either. After extensive research I settled on this as it had all of the features I wanted at an excellent price. Picture quality has been great. Looking forwad to experimenting with the all of the features. The auto function works great for most situations For night shots you won't get much in the LCD screen, but if you know what and where you are shooting, the pics will come out great. I installed liithium batteries and after a few hundred shots and a video over the course of a month they are still good. Highly recommend them over alkalines. Great camera for the money. If you are looking for one that does better be prepared to spend more money.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Dim LCD

If You LikeViewfinders

I feel more comfortable with a "viewfinder" camera. Unfortunately for me they are becoming few and far between. Canon seems to be one of the last mfg'rs to offer it. I'm also impressed with Canons optical quality. The 4x zoom vs the typical 3x is also nice. The camera is a bit larger than the recent trend toward "ultra" small cameras but the A1100 will still fit easily in a pocket. It's an overall v. good deal.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, has a viewfinder
Cons: Dim LCD

I purchased this camera so I could carry it in my pocket on a ski trip. I have a DSLR, so I didn't want to spend a lot on a back up. I am so thrilled with the performance of this powerhot. It is easy to use, has a large LCD, and takes great images. I am every happy with the color of my outdoor shots, For the money, this is a tremendous bargain.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Excellent Detail!

THis camera never fails to astonish me. From the moment I receivedi it, it felt great in my hand, and easy to press the shutter and use the zoom. It has exceeded my expectations in regards to detail in close-ups. When you can see the eyeballs on an aphid that is sitting on a flower petal, that's pretty amazing from a point and shoot.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!
