Canon A1100IS

I recently purchased this camera and am very impressed with its ease of operation and the quality of the photos I've taken. When you're on auto and want to take a close-up it automatically engages the macro feature and takes excellent close-ups that are very clear. The video is also excellent, as are regular photos. I don't have any difficulty with battery life, even with alkaline batteries.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

fabulous camera

My last child went off to college and she took the digital camera with her.....So I need a camera ...She always took the pics for me but now I have this fabulous camera that is so easy to use , point and shoot you are good to go everything is automatic, even loading the software into my comuter was auto.....easiest transfer of photos ( I am now on facebook with the rest of the world)
not only would I recommend this camera I already have to several friends, and my middleaged eyes can see the lcd screen easily.

Value for Money

We recently purchased this camera for my wife. The camera is value for money. The controls are easy to figure out and menu is similar to other Canon camera menus. The camera has both LCD and viewfinder, a nice feature for a basic P&S camera. The camera takes decent pictures and is easy to operate. We mainly use it to take pictures of our 2 1/2 year old toddler. The performance and image quality however is not good during night or low light conditions. The flash is not as powerful as we expected it to be. The memory card slot is difficult to access, flilmsy and near the battery. The camera uses AA batteries, so buy the batteries in bulk or use rechargeable ones. Overall, we are satisfied with the camera and intend to use it for a long time.
Pros: Nice features/settings, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life

I am not very good with Technical thing's,ie; mp3's, digital camera's, etc.
This camera is amazing. I can take great quality pictures, & get them loaded onto the computer by myself. No help from my children. I love it.

PowerShot A1100IS

This was purchased as a "convenience" camera as I have a Powershot S5IS also (for its long zoom). I recently used the A1100IS as a party with very low lighting. I was extremely pleased with the ability to focus on a subject in very low light! My only "criticism" is the short battery life; however that is also true with my other Canon so it must be their electronic technology.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

The PowerShot A1100 IS, is easy to use the controls are simple it has a bright LCD, nice features and settings and it takes great pictures

First digita camera

This is my first digital camera. I resisted for a long time. In the first half hour of ownership, I managed to take photos, upload to my computer, and print directly from my printer. Easy to use, great pictures and really easy-to-follow instructions. The only downside is that 12 megapixels makes for a very large computer file. Takes up lots of space. Also, my friend who still uses a dial-up connection (!) could not open the photo file because it was too large.

Cons: creates a large computer file
