Great disappointment after high hope

I liked the easy-to-use features of this camera, but was sorely dissappointed when the lens wouldn't function (close or open) after its first use (after taking ~20 pictures). When I tried to download the pics to the computer (after installing the software), it didn't recognize that I had any pics on the memory stick. I still haven't verified if my pics actually exist since I returned the camera to the store. Interestingly enough, the technician from the store said that several others had been returned with the same problems.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: lens failure, software didn't recog pictures on memory stick
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

camera good, instruction bad in book

it needs better instruction book. I WILL BE TAKING TRIP TO FRANCE LATTER THIS YEAR and will find out how it works with a 8 gig abit sd card for movies and still pictures and self portaits with old friends FROM 50 YEARS ago when I was in the service there and some mountain scenery

Cons: Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu

good pics...I think

I purchased this camera for a trip to Hawaii. I really like it! It is easy to use but has some confusing features.The picture quality looks good on the camera yet is not so good on the computer. I have had to sharpen every picture by hand!! It could be me though as I am not so good on the computer. For some reason I could not delete the pictures off the camera and I some how ended up with a little tiny screen to view the past pics, with all the info about the pixels etc. I just want to point, shoot and delete in the field! At home I can deal with the other stuff. At this time I would not recomend this camera.

Not Worth the Money

I purchased this camera thinking it was going to be a good point and shoot. I absolutely hate it! The quality is terrible and grainy. Every photo I take with this camera is full of noise, even when the lighting is good. The battery life is not very good either.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor image quality, Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life

Waste of money

Lithium batteries are brand new yet camera takes 6-8 seconds to recover from taking a flash picture! This is unacceptable. Shutter delay is too long causing many missed pictures. Picture quality is fair. Telephoto pics are blurry unless tripod is used. SORRY I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA. It was a waste of money. I thought Cannon cameras were better than this.

Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor image quality, Poor Low-Light Performance, Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu, long delay after flash pic is taken

I have spent over 20 hours trying to determine how to playback motion pictures!! Your on line service stinks. Just tell me in stupid language if necessary HOW TO PLAYBACK MOTION PICTURES!! Now I can't even send my comments without answering more questions. My overall rating value is 0.0 I spent 25 minutes trying to send my comments. NOW ISN'T THAT REDICULOUS!!!

I would not buy this camera again. It is very difficult to open and close the battery/card compartment, especially hard to close it.

Wipes out card at random

This camera was great for about the first three months--then it started erasing the memory card at random. Putting a new card in and replacing/recharging the batteries did not help the problem. The setting for formatting the disk was also okay. Would not buy a Canon product again.
