We bought this unit as an all-purpose machine for use at our West Maui condo, where I have discretionary time to work on computer projects associated with nonprofit organizations on Fox Island, WA, our primary home. I use MacOS exclusively. Installation proceeded without a glitch (I followed the directions carefully). Scanning and printing quick and easy and of excellent quality. Have not tried faxing which I rarely do. Delighted with the choice. Am now planning purchase of an Epson 2880 versus 3880 for Fox Island History Museum projects, especially printing Epson scans of very old 4 by 5 inch glass negatives.

Better than the cx7000

The only problem I've encountered so far is there isn't any fit-to-page feature and or enlarging a smaller document. At least if there is it's not in the instruction book. Otherwise it works well.

This is a great little printer. Produces beautiful work and is easy to install and use. I have two larger format printers but prefer to use the 310 for small prints.

I love how quickly the 310 prints in the draft mode; the quality is still very good. The text mode quality is even better. Fax function works great. Con: I wish I could turn the 310 off by simply hitting the "On" button. It always asks me a question about saving fax settings when I do that.

It is a low price highly efficient reliable machine. Scans fast. It comes with a very professionally designed software that helps to organize the documents. I bought 3 of them. Two for the office and one for home. The prints are very impressive. It faxes great. On the downside, it is a little cumbersome to place paper. If you print checks you will have to experiment when working with less than a full sheet of checks. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Good printer so far

I have used this printer for one month. It seems technically well designed and functional. I am happy with the functions, print quality, and ability to set default printing quality.
Plastic parts such as the paper tray, though, are a very light plastic. I wonder if one good jolt would break off a critical part. Also the printer is loud when it's cranking out the paperlike it wants to jump around.
I think it will be a good printer and look forward to the great all-in-one features and photo/graphic print quality.

I have used Epson products and printers for many years. The WorkForce 310 is an excellent machine, works quickly and quietly and is easy to work, even as a new acquisition.
If you are not looking to print pictures directly from a chip then this printer will take care of all your needs.

Came across this printer on sale - had intended on getting a competitor's product. So happy I got this one. Ease in set up, ease in using, great speed.
