2. Epson should supply hi-capacity black ink cartridges instead of the 8ml cartridges that come with the unit. Since initial setup requires additional ink the 8ml carridges empty rather quickly. I have had this unit since 5/1/2010, have not done a lot of printing and have already had to buy black ink cartridges.
3. Why wasn't it designed with one black ink cartridge? When I saw 2 cartridges in the store I assumed that I would get a lot of black ink printed pages, but that proved to be an incorrect assumption.
4. Both black ink cartridges appear to be emptying at the same level. Seems like one or the other would empty more quickly.

love epson printers

I have been using Epson printers for my art printing needs for years. They have the best color and quality that I have found and my workforce 310 lives up to my expectation for that color and quality. I tell every one that asks how I get such great color that it is my printer doing the job. I have three printers and love them all. I would like to see the ink price go down as I use a lot of ink but it is fairly reasonable as it is.

Excellent Value!

This MFP is an excellent value, both for the initial price and for ongoing ink costs. It doesn't have lots of bells and whistles (i.e. no SD/flash card slots, no picture screen, only simple networking, etc.), but for a straightforward, high quality, flexible printer, copier, and fax, it's great! I use only the 68-version hi-capacity ink cartridges, which saves money over the 69-version standard capacity, and the dual black saves having to change them too often. I liked it so much, I purchased a spare to keep onhand (refurbished is an even better value than new!!) All in all, a terrific MFP.

Frustrated with 310

I have been frustrated with this since I got it (from my company). I cannot get it to print PDF's despite reinstalling 3 times and asking the 'help' line for help....their help was no good.
Also, I am incredibly disappointed at how fast it runs out of ink and then, even though the second black cartridge has ink, it won't print if one of the blacks is empty. Pain in the neck. And it is very loud and slow.
Not happy, but unfortunately, it is a company printer so I have no choice in the matter.
