Great purchase

This is our first HDTV & we love it. The only thing lacking is the web search like, i can't watch "hulu or megavideo". The picture quality & sound is amazing esp. with HD & blu ray movies. We like its modern design, it made our living room look modern & chic. Can't wait to show it to our friends..

Good TV, Could have more apps

This is a good TV series. Works as expected. Swivel is a good feature.
Though it could have more apps like, hulu and google search.

There was three main ingredients that I was looking for in my first HDTV purchase. Quality, Performance and Value .The LG42LH50 scores 5 STARS on all 3 categories ( including easy set-up) I have had this TV 3 months now with no problems at all Picture quality is great .Highly recommend

Great TV - picture, motion, color, look, size....everything - great tv. Watch everything in regular 60hz and looks great.
Only wish that there were a quick menu option to turn on 120hz and that the built in wire management plastic tab on the back were a bit more sturdy...

This TV almost gets it. Keeping in mind the relative features for this price range, this television cannot be beat. It has an amazing picture, lots of features, built-in VuDu, Netflix, and other support.
The ONLY problem I ran into after 18 months of ownership is a bug in the Netflix app where it says: "Sorry, that title cannot be watched instantly at this time. Please try again later or play a different movie." Some titles will play but often times it is not the ones you are wanting to play. Even going out of the Netflix app and trying again will not work. So to help others with the same frustrating issue, I will say that all we did is turn off the TV and turn it back on. The title would play fine and the error wouldn't come back for a few movies. We ended up doing that a few times but it has not happened lately, even with no TV software update. So I'm not sure if it's "fixed" now or not but perhaps my experience will help others.
Aside from that frustration (on a very new app), I am very pleased. Since I don't expect the latest-and-greatest to be 100% flawless, I gave LG some leeway here, especially for the price of this set.

Great deal for the money

With this TV, you get what you pay for. The picture looks great, although not as good as the (far) more expensive televisions. All normal people will be absolutely thrilled with this TV. If you're more of a techy, you'll be satisfied but not overwhelmed.
