I just got this TV yesterday, and I love it! It was very easy to set up and looks great- it's a great replacement for my old junky TV. The best part about this TV for me is the Netflix feature- I don't have a PS3, Wii, etc. to watch Netflix through. I got a great deal as well!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

After much searching and comparing products/features, I decided on the LG 42LH50. The picture quality is amazing and the integration of Netcast services (netflix, YouTube etc.) is totally awesome. We use ALL of the features of this TV and my family is so pleased with it that we are looking at 3D TV offerings by LG now. I trust the quality and performance of this brand so much that I have no problem recommending LG to my friends, family and associates! This was DEFINATELY a researched purchase that I am extremely happy with 5 out of 5 stars for LG!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

This is a great TV for a great price (if you can still find them - discontinued according to this site). Like everyone else has already said, it is easy to set up and operate. Who needs instructions, anymore??? The NetFlix, Yahoo Widgets, and other on-line features are really what set this machine out from the rest, IMHO. The only drawback I have noticed is that it is a little bit slow in picking up a channel or otherwise responding to the remote commands. Not a big deal as I have loads of patience. Actually, the wife is a movie buff and she really likes this set!
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: performance

My first large HDTV. Excellent picture. Easy to setup and use. Seems to have some neat features such as the ethernet connection for netflix, yahoo etc. I havent used it yet but can't wait to try it. Only minor nits about features. Could not get clock auto set to work. probobly due to my cable system. Remote seems to only work from a slightly narrower angle then where my easy chair is. about 45 degrees from straight on. Would have been alot cooler if the inernet connection could be made via wireless.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: not wireless internet connectable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Broadband/Network Wonder

Knowing that technology goes through a cycle of creation, adoption and convergence, I was looking for a television that was network capable. I came across a number of other manufacturer's models, but none seemed to have the capability and quality reputation of the LG. I nearly panicked when my local video store ran out two days before my purchase decision was made. Finding it online through another retailer, I warily made the purchase, fearing damage during shipping.
My fears were unfounded. LG's engineers have put the same care into designing their packaging as they have their products. The unit arrived intact and operates perfectly. The broadband access was completed by simply plugging an ethernet cable from the TV to the switch and performing the automatic network setup. I was instantly given access to all the shared media on my network, AND out to the internet via Netcast.
Picture setup was ultra simple and completed in under a minute. One of the features I particularly enjoy is the TV's ability to sense its environment and adjust both the picture brightness and sound shape to enhance viewing and listening. The 120Hz refresh rate takes a little getting used to as shows recorded at that refresh rate look too smooth for broadcast television. This is not a drawback, rather just takes some expectation adjustment. Can a TV be too good?
The only thing I find lacking is the ability to watch shows from internet television sites like HULU. This could be accomplished, I suspect, with a software upgrade. I also suspect, however, that there are significant licensing and copyright issues involved (aren't there always?). But, as I said at the beginning of this review, convergence is the goal, and Cable, Satellite, and Over-The-Air broadcast are going to find themselves in the buggy whip business soon.
Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give my LG an 8½. I'm looking forward to many years of pleasure from it.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, broadband access
Cons: internet variety

I waited quite a while before considering a LCD TV purchase and am ever glad I did. This TV has all I could want with the exception of Skype/Facebook in the netcast list of programs but perhaps that will be added in an update. I am also hoping that perhaps a firmware update will allow the built in USB to ba able to host a webcam if Skype is added to this model. All-in-all, I have been suggesting this TV to all my friends. It was only tricky setting up access to Windows 7 file shares which the online support needs to address updating the documentation to address avoiding 'homegroup' authentication conflicts and keeping the 'guest' account enabled.
I purchased this TV from an online shopping site. On the day it was delivered, I had it out of the box and connected and was watching TV in less than 15 minutes. The online features are excellent. I have it plugged into my DSL router and it works perfectly. The onscreen menus are very easy to use and understand. The factory default picture settings were almost perfect. I made minimal changes in the picture. I'm extremely satisfied and have become a big LG fan.
