ok for generic home use

I wanted this printer to provide quality imaging for a moderately heavy load of documents as well as give an acceptable image with photos. It does quite well with docs, but do not use it for pictures. The magenta color dominates; it does not work with semi- or gloss photo paper. I find the paper feeder stubborn to load and feed. If you are looking for a simple desktop printer/scanner/copier without a high quality output, this printer will suit you fine. Look outside of this if you want photos or color graphics.

Great Printer for the Money

I'd previously owned another brand printers, until the new one wouldn't work with my computer. Their techs worked online in my puter for "work arounds" on 4 successive days, told me to reboot and it crashed my machine...big time. They washed their hands of any responsibility.
IT WAS A BENEFIT, because i bought the Stylus NX515, which worked perfectly, right out of the box...in addition, the scanner software was ideal for what I do, scan documents to .pdf for distribution. It is superb at that, very easy, lots of options for the scanning process etc. Epson tech support also gets kudos from me: Just upgraded to Win 7 Pro; needed some print and scanner drivers; Epson tech support was prompt, courteous, and ....very good. Solved the problem without delays or "work arounds" like the "other guys" seem to have in abundance. I am now a loyal Epson customer!

I chose this printer when I upgraded my computer. This printer is much louder than my previous one. I did not have any complaints until recently when I attempted to print something. The paper won't feed correctly and gets jammed. I have followed the instructions to remedy this problem, but nothing seems to help. I do not plan to buy another Epson printer in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great output, cartridge problems

I've printed lovely fine art photographs on this with great results. It's fast and accurate. The scanner is brilliant. I do have a few complaints however.
If you're mainly interested in printing black and white or text, don't get this printer. There is absolutely no way to print with only black ink, it will always be using a small amount of the colour cartridges, and if any of these colour cartridges show as empty (sometimes this indicator is inaccurate too!) it simply will not print.

I'm used to printers just making do with black ink even when other cartridges are empty. This one forces you to buy a new cartridge every time. It gets highly inconvenient.
Again if you're hoping to produce great quality colour prints, this is an amazing printer. If you're hoping for a high or moderate volume of black or text prints, you'll waste your money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I can not install EpsonNet Print, I am told to download the latest version and it directs me to a link. Again it is impossible to install EpsonNet Print, and then I can not install Epson Stylus SX515W.

I have spend a total of 7 hours trying to print an enrollment papers for my little boy.
It would only print the logos not the text, nothing else no mattere what i did . I puted on PDF ,Document, Picture no luck. It only printed from Internet. Is the most fustrating thing , I woud not recomend this product.
