NEVERY BUY THIS!!

If you want to waste your money buy this printer. To print black inks you must have ALL the other inks filled too, the inks are programed with a chip so they "run out" before the ink is actually out. And the printer will not let you pass the screen the says "replace ink cartridge" until you buy a new one with a new programed chip. If you try to save some money and buy ink in bulk, after a couple uses the printer will say it cant recognize the inks and again you cant get passed the "replace ink cartridge" screen without buying a new one. When you actually manage to get the printer to print, you will likely find lines missing in the printed pages, if not all the page missing.

Worst Printer I have ever used. They are making a fortune in ink sales. Printer heads are in constant need of cleaning, which uses ink. If cartridge is past exp. date it will not print no matter what the color. Black only printing still requires every other color to be present. Ink does not last. Please save yourself much frustration. STAY AWAY from this Printer. Even if someone gives it to you.

I agree that this printer is a money pit. I never print in color yet my color cartridges ran low and it wouldn't let me print in black. Very costly and it doesn't print well. Stay away

If just one of the color ink cartridges is out, you can't print in black and white. And, the ink runs out quite often. You'll end up spending more on ink than you did for the printer.

I needed to get a new printer for the house after my old one went. I saw this printer in the ad and it had everything I needed and then some. I used this printer about twice a week every week. Then I didn't need to use for about three weeks and the ink heads clogged and I was never able to get it to work properly again.

Poor longevity, poor design

Anyone who has given this thing higher than 2 *s is probably posting within the first month. Over time this printer reveals itself to be a money sink and poor performer. If you aren't printing multiple documents every week, the ink clogs up such that you use more ink trying to run "nozzle cleaning" than if you had actually been printing the whole time.
The bottom line is, if I wanted to have to deal with so many printer problems, I would have stayed in tech support.

In the past, I would go above and beyond to stay with Epson printers. Despite knowing the massive amount of ink required, I bought this printer because of my prior experience with Epson. With that being said, I can barely make out copies made with the draft setting on this printer (rendering the function completely useless). The networking is sketchy, at best. I'm constantly having to re-enter the network info on the printer and/or completely re-install the driver. The heads continuously need cleaning (again, massive ink usage). Also, this beast is ridiculously loud, and the quiet print setting does absolutely nothing to abate the noise. As a recent college grad, and with a wife in a Master's program, we print often. Unfortunately, this printer just doesn't live up to expectations. I've had much cheaper all-in-one units perform much more consistently and with acceptable quality. I would not recommend this printer to anyone (unless they have a nagging need to always have something to work on).
I really don't like to leave on all bad notes, so I will explain the two stars I gave. When the printer does work, it prints very quickly and produces very good quality.
