Sleek look but randomly stopped working

My unit is relatively new. It as completely stopped working. I saw where another customer stated "the open/close flap can falls on the motor when vent fan is on causing motor to burn and die."
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Buyer Beware - Blower Motor Failure

As others have noted, the there is a known issue where the damper falls into the moving blower motor and binds the motor. The motor is more expensive to replace than the entire unit cost new.
The worst part is that we bought this model because of the unique curved vent hood. We paid to have tile custom installed to match that shape over our cooktop. Now we're faced with either spending a huge sum of money to replace the blower, or get an entirely new unit and have the tile redone.
