Fan really wrong, but moves easy

I like fan strenght, my dislike would be its not sturdy enough. Moves, even with attached to main studs. Light settings brightness is also great.

DO NOT BUY

G.E. has developed the perfect business model. Make a product that breaks after 3 years, with moderate use (motor failure) and than have the replacement part cost more than buying a brand new model. Not to mention that it keeps the service technicians busy and well paid to inspect the unit which they probably knew the outcome before even looking at the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bad Motor

I agree that GE makes sure that appliance stops working in 3 years or less . We bought this hood in November 2021 and it (motor/Blower) broke in October 2024, repairing / replacement cost is more than the product value or can buy new one instead. Our home insurance does not cover this equipment either because it is not attached to the range . Not sure what to do at this point.

Way too low

We have just replaced our entire kitchen with GE Profile Series appliances. Upon installation it's clear this hood is far too low. If you're standing close enough to reach the back eyes (and not under 4' tall) then you can't see the back eyes at all. It's not a functional hood because of how low it is and it can only be adjusted to hang even lower.

My only complaint is the hood hangs too low. Constantly hitting my head on the corners and have to bend down to use back burners. Wanted to return it to the store but a 30% restocking fee since it was a special order. So basically I'm stuck with it. My ceiling height is 8 ft; this hood should do not be designed for a ceiling height below 9 ft. I would not recommend this for that reason. Other than that, it's great

The fan is so loud (even on low) I can't carry on a conversation with guests. Pull is not very good either. Cooked bacon with fan on high and the house still smells like bacon.

Sexy design with all the function

We chose this unit specifically for its design. The sleek, slim look is perfect. I'm very impressed with the amount of air this thing can move! It's a little loud when it's on it's top fan speed, but because it works so well, we usually keep it on low. I also love the LED lights - very elegant and functional.
I would recommend this to a friend!
