Stunning good looks

A challenge to install where ceiling height is below that recommended but worth every penny and effort (Note: Since my ceiling was only 7' 9", I had to engineer support in attic to raise hood up desired 30" height above cooktop). I wish GE provided a stainless flange to make duct connection at ceiling look more polished but a little 3/4 inch molding and caulk worked just fine. Fan moved large volume of air quietly. All the contractors working on my kitchen remodel commented on what a great looking hood I had purchased.

We had this product installed a couple of weeks ago and are very happy with it. We have an island cooktop and open kitchen/dining/living room so it was important to get a hood that was both visually appealing and not overpoweringly loud when in use. On the first 3 settings, it's not too bad. The 4th setting is pretty loud, but we don't use it often. It greatly reduces the greasy steam and any smoke that would otherwise float up to our ceiling and cabinets and stain them. It also helps reduce cooking odors. Highly recommend!

Great Looks, but Complicated Install

1. Instructions don't tell you that the horizontal support should always be placed in the middle (midway chimney).
2. Instructions also don't tell you that Iower vertical supports are stainless stell, and that there is a thin film of protection that needs to be removed.
3. Upper duct covers are hard to hang because tabs on edge of duct covers are too hard to measure up and go into 6 notches on duct cover support.

Minimal profile, great fan (in fact, on high it could pull plates off the counter top), and nice lighting. It is a bit expensive, but once you install it you will love it.
