Sleek Look, Many Fan Speeds

I am really enjoying this range hood in my kitchen. The sleek look of the stainless steel complements my other stainless appliances. There are two light settings and five different vent fan speeds. The light is bright enough that I can cook without any other lights on if I wanted to. The varying fan speeds mean I can quietly vent out the cooking smell, or use a more powerful setting for smelly things like fish.

I gave this four stars because I don’t care for the fact that the chute coming down from the ceiling isn’t one seamless piece. My eye always goes directly to the seam and it looks cheap. Other than that one esthetic thing, it works really well. The lights are nice and bright so I can see what I am doing on my stovetop. We had ours vented to the outside and we love that option. It’s easy to dismantle and clean. Easy to wipe down in between uses.

Bright LED light Not able to make it warmer color

I recently purchased the GE Hood Vent for my kitchen and I am extremely satisfied with the product. The vent hood is not only functional but also stylish, and it has greatly improved the air quality in my kitchen.
However, there is one concern that I have regarding the LED light on the hood vent. The light is very bright and does not have a way to make it softer. I have a warmer light for my kitchen cabinets with a color temperature of around 2.7k. When both the hood light and the cabinet lights are on, they clash and create an unpleasant visual effect.
I was wondering if there is any way to make the current bright light on the vent hood warmer? Perhaps, there are alternative bulbs or color filters that I could use to reduce the brightness and make the light color warmer to match my cabinet lighting. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideations that you might have in this regard.
Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase of the GE Hood Vent, and I hope that we can find a solution to address my concerns about the LED light.

Excellent range hood that is a lovely to look at

This is a great range hood. We had a cabinet over our cooktop with an inexpensive Broan hood. We removed the cabinet and old hood, tiled the wall all the way to the cieling and installed this GE range hood. It looks terrific and is the first thing you notice in our remodeled kitchen. It is also relatively quiet in operation (what range hood is silent?) and has enough suction to remove the cooking fumes and grease. LED lights are great and controls are easy to use and intuitive. Mounting required me to hire an HVAC installer and electrician though your skills may be better than mine on those fronts. I was told to avoid a range hood with a glass hood which was also a reason we chose this product. Glass is a mess to keep clean.

Rust!!!

We just moved into our brand new home and chose this GE hood for our kitchen. It has multiple rust spots across the front. It’s just over 1 month old now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After about 7 months, the control panel failed. The light and the exhaust vent controls would not turn on and stay on or, once they were turned, they would turn off by themselves. The appliance dealer we bought the vent from replaced both the control panel and the exhaust motor because they really didn't know what was wrong with it. And forget about cleaning the stainless steel chimney vent. It streaks with sudsy, warm water or darkens and streaks with stainless steel appliance cleaner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
