Terrible Product
on December 24, 2013

I paid top dollar for this product and within 3 yrs it stopped spinning. I called the store from where I bought it and they explained it was designed to break down just so that GE could make more money from repairs and sales of parts. It is an absolute disgrace that American companies purposely design products to fail just to make additional profits on the backs of hard working people. NEVER AGAIN GE!

We was told there was new technology that has replaced the agitator,,, DO NOT BELIEVE it,,, this is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent,,And let me be clear I've had washers 20 years old work better,, day 1(when I realized some of my clothes were not even wet) I thought well maybe I need extended rinse and spin, to no avail. My clothes are not clean,,now its 3 + years old and it wont drain and spin,,, terrible waste of money

Terrible Washer!
on April 28, 2014

I have only had this washer for a little over 3 years. It never washes the clothes correctly. It leaves black grime all over the lighter clothes. Now it is not spinning out properly. It does not pick up enough speed to spin out and leaves the clothes sopping wet. Would not and will not purchase this again.

Junk

Machine leaked from a faulty valve in the machine and damaged wall. Also machine makes a loud clunking noise. Often becomes unbalanced and always have to run a second rinse to clean clothes.

Hi garyhol,
We appreciate you taking the time to write a review on your washer. We regret your experience. This is not the evaluation we would expect to hear. We always like to hear customer feedback so we may improve our products. Thanks for the feedback.

Needs More Water
on December 22, 2021

As many reviews note, the main problem with this machine is lack of sufficient water to wash a full load of clothes. The automatic sensor yields only a ridiculously small amount of water, forcing the agitator to labor unnecessarily. Even when set to manual on the highest fill setting, the tub is not even half-full. At the end of the wash cycle, the clothes on top were still dry. Hint: You can correct this problem, and save your bearing, if you have a hose and threaded faucet. When properly filled with adequate water to permit agitation, the machine works fine. But who wants to stand there for every wash and rinse cycle?? After a decade of pushing clothes with too little water, our bearing is howling and groaning with each wash. An true, without adding water manually, the clothes do not get clean - and are not properly rinsed. We use the second rinse - a waste of water - when we can’t manually add water with the hose. Don’t listen to the nonsense preaching from GE about water savings. It’s a false narrative, covering the failure to properly meter the amount of water to yield a good wash.

Response from geappliances.comBy Guy@GEA, GE Appliances, December 30, 2021
Hello there, we're so sorry this washer doesn't offer the amount of water you want. We completely understand how aggravating this would be for you considering this is never the experience we want for our consumers.
We know how frustrating this would be, but please also know that the Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary.
We're wishing you the best and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your honest feedback.
