I had this for Four months.This unit plays all my movies with no problem. wi-fi setup was easy. it has excellent features and a good price. I highly recommand the LG BD-390 player (Five Stars!!!)

great device, set up a little tough

Now that it's set up properly, I absolutely love this Blu-Ray player! There was some difficulty with the network settings, but a call to customer service resolved that. The quality of the Blu-Ray and Netflix audio/video is astonishing! Worth the extra money over other players in my opinion.

Excellent, but could be better

We've been using the BD 390 for the past six months and overall we're very impressed. Video and audio quality are excellent, but remote isn't great and the information display options seem lacking. For instance when paused I don't see a way to tell how far into a movie I am, or how far to go. Relatively minor quibbles, it does the important things right and I may get a second LG Blu ray player for the office.

I have a couple different LG products and love them, that is one reason I chose the BD390, however I'm not pleased with this unit. Everything is fine until I get to the on line-downloads from my router. Although it worked well the first couple Netflix Movies we downloaded, now trying to watch Netflix is like having a long / blank commercial every 30 seconds. I have even spent the money to hard wire the BD390 to my router with no change in quality or download speed. From what I've seen on-line, I'm not the only one.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
Cons: Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Okay BD Player

I chose this unit over competing devices primarily for the performance, WiFi and Netflix capability. Basic Features of this BD player are mostly satisfactory. The WiFi connection is excellent and was easily configured. Startup time is very good. I also enjoy the Netflix feature which functions very well. However, if a BD program is stopped and unit shut off, it doesn't remember the place it left off so must be started over - that should be a more basic feature and is very inconvenient. For the hefty extra cost of adding WiFi, I would also have liked some additional features above the basic set. I was disappointed with the remote control. It is too sensitive to direction to my liking- it must be pointed right at the target with little leeway. The sliding cover over the TV control buttons is kind of unnecessary and flimsy and subject to breakage. Anyway, why cover up buttons that you use all the time (Mute, Volume, Input)? They should be available for ease of access. Playing DVDs yields a good quality upconverted picture but the audio is seems to be delayed enough to make it uncomfortable to watch - a reason to keep my old DVD player around a while longer.
