BD390 is a great player

This machine is simply amazing. It connects to an ethernet network without any setup. It works with wireless too, but beyond playing music files wireless is not really all that useful.
My only criticism is that of the media file player. It is extremely weak. It does not recognize any of the standard Windows video formats and can only see 2000 files in any media folder. So, if you have 500 or so CDs in your music library you can only play from playlists. If the Windows Media Extender application were added to this machine it would be the best thing since sliced bread.
For now, Netflix, Youtube and the player itslef are fantastic.
Pros: Quality, easy to use, Performance

Cool but could use some tweaks

I am pretty impressed with this player. The video is good and I really like the media center functions. I haven't tried all of the streaming services so I can't comment on all of them. You Tube works well but searching is a little difficult. Wirless N hooked up quickly and easily with my Linksys router. I do have a couple complaints and a wish list. 1. I have had some problems with Nero Media Home acting sluggish. The player will connect to the PC fine without Nero, but with Nero it says there is network congestion. Reinstalled and upgraded Nero and seems to be o.k. for now. 2. Movies don't resume where they left off if the player is stopped or turned off. 3. I don't think there is a screen saver for pause on a movie. 4. Wish I could choose a screen saver when playing music on the media player. 5. I had a DVD that wouldn't play last night, Adventureland, it played fine on my LG DN191H player. All in all, I like the player but I hope the firmware keeps getting better. P.S. I agree with another reviewer that the power and eject buttons seem to be backwards.
I really love this Blu-Ray player. I have had 2 other blu-ray players and they are nowhere near as good as this one. The amount of features that this device contains are well worth the money spent on it. I would definitely recommend this player to anyone searching for a blu-ray player, or a Netflix streaming player, or a CinemaNow streaming player, or a device to play music wirelessly from your computer to your tv.

I really like this Bue-Ray Player. I like everything about it. Except If you do not have a good sound system the sound will be on the low side. It plays my older DVDs like I have never seen before. The price could be lower but I am very happy with it.

This player has every feature I can think of, but the usb input and the ability to play most files including MKV make it the best player out there. It is also quite easy to select language tracks, a problem I have had with other players. Definitely recommend this player.

Just what I needed

The BD390 Blu-ray player was exactly what I have been wanting for over a year. I did not jump on the bandwagon because of the two formats and after Blu-ray won, I still did not get a player because of the lack of features. I was about to buy a PS3, but then I read about the BD390 online. When I saw its looks and read about the features, I knew this was the Blu-ray player I had been waiting for. I love how it looks on the shelf and I love how it works. Connecting to my wireless network was as simple as pushing a button on the router. Netflix movies play almost instantly and look better on my TV than they do on my laptop screen. I am one satisfied customer and enjoy the latest addition to my LG collection which already includes an LCD TV, washer and dryer, fridge, stove, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, cell phones, and I'm probably forgetting a few things.

I purchased my BD390 on sale at BestBuy after having researched the available market for wireless enabled Blu-ray players and I have to tell you I am exceptionally happy with the product. Setting it up to work with my wireless router (I am a Verizon FIOS customer) was a snap. It detected my SSID and all I had to do was enter my WEP key then SHAZAM I was connected to the internet. I haven't tried out netflix or cinemanow yet but I have tested the link to YouTube and it works great. I have also played both Blu-ray and standard DVD disks and I am blown away by how good the picture quality is on my 47" 1080p HDTV. Even the DVD movie was sharp and looked much better than it did on my old Panasonic DVD player.
Obviously I can't comment on the durability factor at this point because I've only had the unit for a couple days but it sure feels solidly built and in addition it is a beautiful piece of equipment.
If you are looking for a top notch BD player and wireless networking is a desirable feature all I can say is "What are you waiting for?" go out and buy this player, you wont be sorry and as a matter of fact you'll be glad that you did!

Great quality product. Simple to set up and use. I specifically bought this model to watch Netflix movies from the internet. Other reviews note that it's pricey compared to other players - but you don't get these features in the other players. Hands down this is a fantastic player. I did a lot of research before buying and it was well worth the time spent. If you have any wireless issues, you can also connect the player with an ethernet cable. The player doesn't need to be at your internet source, you can convert any electrical outlet to an ethernet source with a simple adaptor.
