This is a very nice package of all-in-one printer capabilities. Solid materials, logical controls, good manuals and excellent tech service. I used the wireless printer function with one using Windows XP and one using Windows 7. The included installation disk was perfect for the XP system. It was completed within 30 minutes. The Windows 7 system installation was a disaster! Tech services advised to uninstall the drivers and software. Even though you are instructed to use the Windows Vista instruction, this will not work. A download from Canon over the internet and 30 minutes of very good Tech Services concluded in a successful completion of installations. They are very weak on this area and should make every effort to correct this problem.

It works well

We've owned this product for about a year and have not been disappointed. Canon product online support is good, so we can get all the driver updates we need for computers running XP/Vista. The print quality is fantastic. The printer operates quietly and reliably. The connectivity features are broad. This truly is a multi-function tool. If there was anything negative it would be the cost of cartridges. This is similar with all the manufacturers however. At least it forces us to be conservative in our printing! I've tried to use substitute cartridges from others on different machines and find it either ruins the machine or you get poor print quality. It seems that the ink use on the MX860 is moderate.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use

when printer is out of ink, you cannot send faxes or scan a document to your computer for printing at a later date
Cons: Slow Print Speed, High Ink Consumption, no ink locks out other functions

Wonderful printer, but ...

I love so much about this printer. It's a fax, scanner and wireless color printer. It has made me very happy. I can't give it five stars, though, because, while it has two different black ink cartridges, it refuses to operate if even one of them is empty, and worst of all, IT WONT EVEN SCAN TO A FILE IF ONE OF THE BLACK INK CARTRIDGES IS EMPTY. I feel like my beloved printer has betrayed me. That is so stupid.
Pros: excellent packaging
Cons: wont work if 1 of 2 black inks is empty

ugh, I hate this thing.
I spend a lot of time getting it to work, finally it does, but by the next time I need to print, it seems to not be working.
the instructions for the driver install are not complete and the software does not follow the instructions.
I'm sorry, and embarassed that I bought this product.
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, Low Quality Output, unreliable, Flimsy Construction

Great Buy

I recently replaced another wireless multifunction printer with this one and I love this printer. It was so easy to install I had it up and running with 20 minutes. I also love the fact that is is so quiet. I have no problem printing from any room in my home. The print quality is excellent and I love the 2nd paper tray. I don;t have to stop and replace paper everytime I want to print an envelope. Canon you have winner in this printer.

It's fast, has a high build quality, looks great, and has lots of features. I've only had it for a day, but have printed several large documents and copied a few others. Works great, no jams!

I am very happy with this printer.It has everything that you need and it's also wireless.I love how it has seperate cartridges so you don't waste the whole color cartridge.I love how it prints great pictures fast.You can't go wrong,it has fax,scanner and printer.Also it's energy efficient.
