Wireless All-Star!

I picked up this printer after using print services at Kinkos and Staples for the past few months.
The only glitch I've experienced is I had a wireless network conflict with my Apple TV. I was not able to sync information between the ATV while the printer was turned on. I'm returning the ATV and keeping the printer.
I love the auto-duplex feature. I've assembled several booklets and the print quality was almost better than the original.
Wireless is great! The printer sits in one corner and I can be in the other room and create and print my jobs.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Heavy/Bulky

Great printer for a home office. It is easy to use and I didn't even read the instructions. Common sense if you have any technological know-how. Printing 2 sided is good and the top feeder makes work much faster.
Pros: Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
Cons: Large Footprint

I'm a non-technical person, however, I found the MX860 both fast to set up and easy to install. From opening the box to printing my first document was less than an hour. I've been extremely pleased with the quality of the printing and the ease of use of the features such as 2-sided printing. You've definitely made this customer happy!

Another Great Canon Printer

This MX860 is our 4th Canon. We had a hard time deciding whether to buy this or wait for the MX870. No doubt the 870 is a fine printer, but the cost reduction for the 860 was nice. From our experience, we can't see that it would have been worth waiting for the 870. What more could we ask for?
It was very easy to set up, including the wireless connection on our 4 computers (2 w/Windows7, 1 w/XP, and 1, a Mac). We didn't read the instructions or install the CD, but downloaded the drivers and software from Canon. After finishing the job, we are glad that we didn't read the instructions. The written instructions are bewildering. Our previous Canon's had a large, easy to follow, step by step explanation of installation. Too bad that they believed a change was needed.
The lower tray, where paper is placed for common printing, seems a bit "flaky" and that caused us to feel a little uncertain about whether things would work okay, but the printer functions great.
I do our own taxes and those of our two boys, so we printed off complete 1040's, along with attached forms, for all of us. And in addition, found that some mistakes were made and had to repeat the printing of one son's return. And my high school math teacher wife has printed a large number of tests, lesson plans, etc. After all this, the black ink level is only slightly down from full.
We expect to enjoy several years of service. We've never had to dispose of an "old" Canon printer because of some failure, only decide after a few years that we want some new and different features.

First off, Canon will always excel as long as there are individual ink tanks. Some of my projects use more of one ink than they do the others, and being able to replace only what I have used is incredibly economical. I have used the print, copy, scan, and fax (both in and out) functions and found this unit's performance to be user friendly and easy to use first time, every time. Even envelopes were no problem. Receiving faxes while I'm away, using the same line for voice and fax… excellent. I'll be back for upgrades.

I have had poor experiences in the past with a competing brand of printers, and decided to get a Canon, because we've had such great results with their cameras. The MX 860 had very easy instructions, was easy to set up, and worked promptly as intended. Print quality is very good, and it's great to have a system both my wife and I can use, via the Wi-Fi wireless system. Outstanding purchase. Yawn.....another great product from Canon.

Excellent All In One

I purchased the Canon Pixma MX860 about a month ago and love this printer! Was looking for a photo printer but needed the copier and fax capabilities. Got it all in this printer. Love the wireless function. Can carry my laptop around the house and still print. The picture quality is fantastic and was such a nice surprise. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone who is looking for a wireless printer that is easy to install, a fax machine that is easy to use, a photo printer that you can plug your digital memory cards in to print out photos without downloading them to your computer and get high quality photos from and a scanner. You can't go wrong with this printer. Love everything about it.
