stand alone fax broke in 2 days. Kept spitting out same page over and over again.
Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: unreliable, High Ink Consumption
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Printer ok wireless not

printer works fine, except for the wireless capacity was not up to the task. Why I bought it was for wireless picture printing. expectations not met. end of story
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: wireless does not work

After careful and thorough research, I followed the sales associate's recommendation (and my heart), and purchased the Canon MX860 all-in-one printer. I've been a loyal customer of Canon products for more than 20 years, but this was my first Canon printer. I absolutely love all the features of this printer. It's so easy to use, even an amateur like me had no problems figuring everything out. Of course, knowing the online support was right at my fingertips, helped boost my confidence. I'm very happy I chose this printer, and stuck with a name I trust. Thanks, Canon...another winner!!

Great all-in-one wireless unit!

Just replaced my PIXMA MP780 with the MX860 wireless. Prior to selecting it, I had noted from reviews that the setup and install could be difficult. To the contrary, it was absolutely quick and very easy - the software does it all. Even in locating my access point during setup, which I had wondered about, the wireless connections were made without effort.
Canon gets it right AGAIN. They even make it very easy to perform any function right from your desktop with their greatly improved software, especially from the Canon Solution Menu icon.
Just buy it - you will love it. Quality, quality, quality!!

Dissapointed- Still testing it out

I purchased the MX860 from Costco yesterday. I have a MAC Mini - I set it up today and the disk was very loud in my drive which concerned me. Everything with the set-up went smoothly except setting up the print cartridges. You have to evaluate printouts and the letters did not print. The colors are very light and there is no information on whether this is a flaw or how it should be. Once I got it all set up, my test document did not print. It sounded like it was printing but nothing printed. After referring to the online manual, which was hard to located my problem, I found the instructions cumbersome. I had to clean the heads of the cartridges. I don't know if this is common but it seems odd since this is a brand now printer. When I printed again (in color) the colors where not that sharp at all. OMG - the printing is a snails pace, so bad that if it does not get better, I will have to return this printer (even if everything else corrects). This is my first Wireless printer, so I don't know if that is the reason. Like I said, I will continue playing around with the printer and provide an update if things get better. Right now I am very dissapointed.

Cons: Difficult Setup, Slow Print Speed

I am very pleased with this printer, I have had other brands in the past and so far this one is much better and reliable.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

I filled all ink and in 1 week it was empty, I only use the printer to copy important things which will amount to about 25 copies a week. this is not reliable it is slow and it eats ink
Cons: Slow Print Speed, High Ink Consumption, unreliable

Great Printer

Had it for a year with zero problems and multiple users in my family.
Ink is easy to replace.
Worst thing I can say is that the wirelss isn't as intuitive to set up as some might like, but not all that bad really.
Not all that fast, but VERY quiet.
I would recommend this to a friend!
