Perfect Home/Office/Photo Printer

I have used this printer over a year and love it. It is reliable, simple to use and load ink and meets my high standards for printing 8x10 color photographs. It has never jammed or given me a minute of trouble. I count on Canon cameras, Canon printers and Canon ink for professional quality results in all my work. I can remember when printers like this cost $800 or so when all-in-one printers became available. The Canon inks and photo papers match perfectly while ink absorption in other brand photo papers don't do nearly as well as the Canon. I love the accurate colors I get with this printer

Very Unreliable

Thi sprinter worked fine for about a year, then poof! I constantly get "Ink running low" or "Cartridge out of ink" messages when there is clearly no problem with the ink the cartridges.
Not only the worst printer I've ever owned, but possibly one of the worst products I've ever owned.
Pros: none
Cons: myriad
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a good value at any price

I purchased this all-in-one when it was first release, however; I would not buy it at it's current suggested retail price either. The overall quality of the machine is good.
That said there are a number of issues. Setup on certain operating systems was a pain, requiring me to download additional drivers and start with the machine plugged in via USB. I also had to figure out wireless scanning ton my own because the machine's documentation lacked the necessary instructions.
Secondly, there is the ink issue. This machine is a terrible value on ink, even on economy settings it burns through the cartridges. Also, it requires that all 5 ink cartridges be installed in order to print. Despite having 2 black cartridges the machine will not print in black or greyscale if the large cartridge (220-BK) is empty. This means that if all the other cartridges (black (221BK), magenta, yellow, & cyan) are full the machine will not print
Pros: durable, High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, poor value on ink, poor documentation

Horrible Printer

Nothing but frustrations. Document feeder is absolutely worthless, never works and sometimes (not very often) does what it wants. Endless problems from the day I purchased it.
Cons: unreliable

Great Imaging; WiFi and Ink Issues

Print quality is very good. Ink consumption rates are alarming. The expensive ink cartridges are significantly smaller than the previous ones, so they empty quickly, and using non-Canon ink definitely shortens the life of the printhead, so it is costly to operate. It is also painfully slow when connected to the network wirelessly. However if you connect via USB to a wireless router to share it over the network, print speeds are better. The the bulky size is unavoidable in all-in-one machines, not a flaw in this one. You can't have four office machines in one case and expect it to be much smaller.

best all in one

this is the best, i have owned h/p and brother, cannon runs circles around them all.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Low Ink Consumption, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky

Set-up was a cinch, works well with my XP, particularly like the "new to me" feature when working with settings of having a double beep when the settings are returned to the original location. Have always appreciated Canon's ready service when a question arises.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: High Ink Consumption

I always buy Canon Printers and Cameras. I wanted wireless printing and waited for Canon to come out with one. Well, it was worth the wait! Setup was great. Used a usb flashdrive to setup wireless network. Only two things to advise Canon. 1. Manual not clear on Fax sending setup menu . 2. They should advise you to have a usb flashdrive to facilitate wireless setup. If it was noted on the outside of the box it would be great. Lucky I had one available. Very minor things. Canon is best for all Printers and Cameras!!!!!!!!!! I own 3 cameras and 3 printers, all Canon. Frenchie
