Overall a great printer. Setting up the wireless network portion of it was a little complex, but was able to get everything to work. Printing pictures directly from an SD Card is awesome!
Pros: reliable, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint

Love it! Easy setup with laptop.
The directions for setting up the wired desktop were a little vague so that took 3 tries, but all is working well.
Love the wireless printing from my laptop - no more carrying the laptop to the printer and plugging in to print.
Although the MX860 seems large it fit nicely on the side table next to our desktop. Prints much faster than the small Canon we were using.
Pros: Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use

Great Quality

I would recommend this product. Quiet, fast, good quality, & wireless print function worked like a champ. I got this unit on sale, but worth the price if it wasn't. A++++
Pros: Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use, wireless print function is great!
Cons: larger than desired, size acceptable with all it's functions

Hard Setup for Windows 7 x64

Overall, Great Product... I am very happy to have a wireless printer that works great. I did have a harder than usual time getting everything setup to my new laptop that has Windows 7 intalled... What should've been 20 min (30min max) took 3 hours after googleing steps that weren't included for Windows 7... Google did take me to Canons website and there it had the info and drivers needed to get everything working correctly...
Pros: reliable, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: Difficult Setup

Stuck on Canons, Frugal Printer Tiny Cartridge

I have had the MX860 about a month now. It prints very clear and detailed pictures. I have used the scanner to scan a printed picture at 1200 dpi to see any imperfections and they were hard to find. It faxes color photos and black and white documents well. I really like the Duplex printing and wireless functions on this printer. I can even use the flash cards and drive as wireless network drives accessible though out the building with all the computers to share pictures, documents and files. It was very easy to setup and use most of the basic functions. I spent a lot of time calling the 800 number for some of the more advanced features that most people won't use. I still use every Canon I have bought, the first more than a decade ago. The BJC-3000 was the first, S820 and MP530 are all still working great. I like that it can hold 150 sheets in the cassette and it can hold envelopes, photo paper and legal in the back. I also like that it remembers your settings in each of the Common settings in printer properties.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, wireless network drive, 800 number for tech svc.
Cons: Difficult to use, Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky, tiny ink cartridges, there is no chat tech svc.

Great Wireless or Wired Printer

After initial USB setup we now have it turned on to work with our router. Everyone can hit this thing wireless for scanning and printing. I've seen some reviews that say it's hard to setup. I found it challenging but not impossible to do. Take your time follow the directions and it works great!

Cons: Large Footprint

After being steered toward this all-in-one by the store tech when we purchased our new computer, we were expecting a good machine, but not one that was so totally excellent!
Every feature we have used so far (we've yet to fax) has worked beautifully. In particular, the scanner on this machine is exquisite. We've scanned tons of old photos into our computer and couldn't be happier with the results.
As a printer & copier, we have absolutely zero complaints and I look forward to many happy years of use.

A Step Above the Competition

This is a great printer. Some say it is rather large and it might be larger than the competition equals but is makes up for it in features and performance. Plus it has a low ink consumption and 5 separate inks so it is very simple to replace them. It prints better and has more features than the more expensive models at our office. The wireless is very good too. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone.
Pros: reliable, durable, Low Ink Consumption, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
