Fantastic little player. Superb in all respects- hooking up, turning on, and getting lost in a blu ray movie. LG rocks!

Bought as Christmas present to myself. Player works great on Blu-ray disks. Youtube streaming is OK, does not offer HD quality videos, all are shown at SD. When playing DVDs the menus will sometimes not display, I have to press remote control Home or Menu buttons to see the disk menu.
Pros: Performance, Quality
Cons: dvd menus may not display

Good BD Player / BAD CD PLAYER

I bought this mostly for the netflix integration which is flawless. This is a great blu-ray player. Where this unit really falls short is as a simple audio CD player. Though I realize it was not designed with that in mind, the audio aspects of this unit leave you wishing for a lot more. For instance, the display on the front of the unit doesn't even display CD track #. Only way to find out what track you're on is to turn on the TV and use the GUI for the player. CD load times are also painfully slow. Was excited when I bought this unit b/c I thought it would solve to problems for me: blu-ray playback and audio CD playback. Turns out I was wrong and need to buy a separate CD player to enjoy my music as well.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, netflix
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Bluray player

Pros: I bought this bluray player because it had both the netflix app and the youtube app. We use both regularly.
Cons: You can't choose the quality of the youtube videos. The quality is pretty low.
Also it can't read video files from the usb port. That would be a big bonus as well.

Great Machine

We've played Blue Rays, regular DVDs, media on memory-stick, and YouTube (via a web connection). It all rocks. My only complaint is the loading mechanism which sometimes gags on disks, since the media loads on a bit of an angle, and can partially slide out when you push 'close'. We finally had to send it in for service when it jammed. If you have this machine, I recommend you use extra care in laying the disk snug inside the platter.

I bought this for the holidays and it has done well with all formats, not to mention Blu-ray. I really enjoy the features and the fact that it works perfectly with the LG lcd tv that I have.
