The most accurate way to get reading is to test the water directly inside the pitcher. You can do this by removing the reservoir from the pitcher and sticking the meter in the filtered water sitting in the pitcher. If you get a 000 reading inside the pitcher it is possible that the cup or glass you were using before had soap residue on it causing the meter to read above 000. If you are not getting 000 in the pitcher, try the following steps to see if you can get the filter to read 000 on the meter. Dry off the filter with a clean paper towel. Then place the filter over a clean paper cup. Run a small amount of water directly into the filter and test the water that collects into the cup. If the meter does not read 000 it is possible that unfiltered water got into the pitcher via a leak at the O-ring. In order for filtered water to read correctly there must be a perfect seal where the filter is screwed into the reservoir. I try to buy ahead so I have yet to use any from this shipment. Overall I am very happy about your product. I have bought several over the years since I found it. Some of the people that write in to complain, will do so about anything so disregard the dumb complaints and try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. My ONLY issue is that they need to clean up the die for injection to get rid of the ridges so it is easier to clean. Well maybe beef up the hinge too! I have tried many different systems for big $ and they didn't even come close to this product! I use 1 filter a month in my area but this certainly be different for you if you have harder water. I would have loved to try this product on the water when I lived in Meshitagain!
The filters are great! I wouldn’t have purchased them if I hadn’t known of a third party guy who did additional testing on their legitimacy. The plastic water holder isn’t much, but the filters are awesome! Well wort the cost! I think they have large glass water holders now. Get all that crap out of your water and out of your body!
I am beyond disappointed with this last order of 12. I have now opened four "new" filters that all read over o, in fact, as high as 76 on first fill. Instead of twice a month, I've gone through half in two. This is such a waste of product/material and my money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
