You know your water is good when it is room temperature and there is not taste. We always get that with zero water. I buy the most filters I can and stay stocked up as specials become available throughout the year.
We have very hard water with lots of iron (300-400+ on the scale). This filter did an AMAZING job of making our water taste great (totally passed the kid test) but after a short time - only a few days- the water began to taste 'bitter' and I'm just not sure why. So I changed the filter and same thing happened again - after a few days the bitter taste came back. I would love to continue using this, but I can't afford to change the filters as often as seemingly necessary, unless I can solve the mystery of why it goes south so quickly.
While the filters are very good removing impurities and foul taste from water, the lifespan of each filter is abysmally short. With a household of three, with normal use, nothing excessive, we have to change filters every 12 to 14 days. After 12 days the filtered water starts tasting sour. Considering the cost of the filters this is not a practical or economical long-term solution to getting clean water. It also generates a lot of waste in the form of large used filters.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter, in many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of Zero Water more economical. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short. this filter takes some solids out of the water, but I think they should make it to take out more. Like lead, and chlorine. Takes some chlorine out.

This water filter really works well and it’s very reassuring to know that I am drinking the cleanest water possible. I intermittently test the Los Angeles water straight on the faucet, and it ranges from 250-350. Yet, after running it through the filter it’s always Zero. I am getting about 6 weeks out of each filter and have recommended this product to everyone I know. I’ve even used it in my new Nespresso machine so I know that my coffee and espresso are as pure as can be. The water is also perfect for cooking pasta and other things like making tea. I love it, and I am not usually a 5 star kinda guy. This product deserves it!
