My water was brown colored and had sediment in it. Purchased Zero Water and signed up for the automatic filter replacement- LOVE THE WATER! Only issue is that the collection container will not fill all the way, only half-way, I am assuming this is something related to physics, but it annoys me since I don't have enough water available when I need it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.

Sour taste

I really liked having this in my fridge, filtered water ready to go. I went through four filters, and when each one “expires” the water starts to taste sour. It’s incredibly unpleasant, almost tastes toxic.

ZeroWater's Ion-exchange resin filters are a reliable and efficient way to get delicious, filtered water. They work by exchanging ions in the water with regenerated ions from the resin beds, which can remove a variety of contaminants from water, including lead, nitrates, sulfates, calcium, magnesium, and other heavy metals. The exchanged ions bind with the contaminants, making them much easier to filter out. Our combination of cation and anion exchange resins can reduce 99.6% of dissolved contaminants in your water. However, when the filter is exhausted no more contaminants can be filtered out and an unpleasant smell and taste may be present. This is a common cause of overuse and can also occur by pouring hot water into the filter or freezing it. Be aware, though, that while the smell is unpleasant, it does not indicate any harm or danger. It is only time to replace your filter. Change your filter once the TDS meter reads 006.

Filters stop working requiring constant squeezing

The filters continue to stop filtering water after only a couple days of use. I have to constantly squeeze and shake them to get them to work again. I sent a support email about this almost a week ago and no response, just a request to provide a review.

We certainly apologize for the continued frustrations with the filters, typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock. If you do not clear all of air from the filter this issue will continue to compound itself over and over. Also never fill the reservoir directly from the faucet or spigot from your sink as this is naturally aerated and will force air down inside the filter. It is best to fill the reservoir with a large glass or measuring cup and pour into the corner of the reservoir away from the center of the filter. If there is ever a filter that simply just will not fix itself when the aforementioned trouble shooting steps have been followed we are more than happy to replace that filter. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
