I started using the Zero Water Filters and the pitcher in January 2017 and LOVED it! Somewhere along the line, the filters changed. Now I regularly find little yellow balls in the first stage reservoir. At first, that was a little unnerving, but I figured that as long as they weren't in the water I was drinking, it was no big deal. Well, then I noticed little yellow balls in my oil defuser and got to checking things out. They were in the bottom of my tea kettle too. Lord knows how long I've been drinking those things! I'm pretty bummed because I really love the taste of the water.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, Thanks for reaching out to us. These particles are not harmful and should not leak into your filtered water. The reason which this would have occurred is due to leaving unfiltered water in the reservoir. When you pour, the water from the unfiltered reservoir will spill over into the filtered water. We are coming out with a new filter lid in the next few months (with the same great water technology) which will fix this issue. This sometimes happens when the filter is dried out or when high pressure water hits the top of the filter.
Lately, these have had a tart taste right out of the packaging. At first, I thought it was just a bad batch from the store, but I recently ordered direct from the website and they also have the taste. Meter still reads 000 (I tested against my tap water which reads 072), so I add a splash of lemon juice to make my water more palatable.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. An order has been placed for 4 replacement filters as this is not the norm for our filters. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your business.
After direct comparison of particulates in my tap water, filtered water from refrigeration, filtered water from my Britta , and Zero filtered water I made the switch with no regrets. Zero won bands down!!
I live in the northeast, which per ZeroWater’s graph, should have tap water of a somewhat low TDS. Unfortunately my tap water is about 400 TDS. This translates into having to change my filter about once a week, which is a little absurd. For context, there’s 2 adults plus a dog. We use the ZeroWater filter for water, dogs water, coffee machine. I wouldn’t say we consume an excessive amount of water. After about a week of using it, the water started to have a citrusy taste to it. After some googling, I was informed (by the ZeroWater website) that meant it was time to change the filter. The taste continued to get worse and worse, which forced me to change the filter. For the price, I would expect it to last a little longer. I was originally very excited about this filter but due to the cost that it would take to maintain this filter, I couldn’t recommend it.
It’s great; best filter system I’ve found!! Great customer service too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using a Zero Water Water Pitcher for 5 years. I had been ordering them from Amazon but recently purchased them directly from Zero Water. We live in a rural area and the local water company does not do a good job of clean water. We NEVER drink/cook straight from the faucet. We always filter the water.
