A fan but slightly dissatisfied

I live in Tampa Bay so not the best water quality to start however I’m shocked at how fast I’m running through filters. I love this thing but I have had it for only 5 weeks and today I am seeing that again I need to change the filter…. I was aware it would be more frequent due to water quality but this is 2 filters for 5 weeks! That’s terrible… I’ll be using my 3rd one and hoping it lasts closer to the 3week or month mark but boy this is so disappointing. Not sure if I’ll continue with this product and I’m bummed :/ .
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter, in many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of Zero Water more economical. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short. I like how the water tastes. You need get rid of the blue plastic cap, and most definitely lower the price. The filters are very expensive, especially if you need to change them frequently.

We have updated the filters to replace the screw on blue cap with a peel off lid. We appreciate your feedback.
The air in our apartment is very dry in the winter, so I use a humidifier in our master bedroom at night. The humidifier uses a gallon of water every night. I was buying gallons of distilled water to run it all during the winter. When COVID season hit, at one point distilled water became in very short supply at the grocery stores. That was my turning point. I switched to a large Zero Water pitcher and started to make my own equivalent of "distilled water". I have used this method for the past 2 years and it works very well!
The filtering fill time is much longer than we had expected and once the water in the container reaches another 1/3 of the way up the filter, it stops. My wife had to hold the filter above water line for the full trap to empty. The water tastes great but very disappoints in the process.

I bought a 12-pack of filters when they were on sale. We've used Zerowater for a while and are happy with the purity and taste of the resulting water. The filters can be a little expensive, so we generally wait for a sale, but they work great.

Need to support in store recycling

The filters are pretty good. Sometimes the water does not flow through, which can be annoying. It does seem to be an oversight that there is not a recycling infrastructure as this is a lot of plastic going to landfill. Solve that issue and you have a good product on your hands!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
