Very Expensive without free recycling

This product is of good quality and works well, but the filters only last 2-3 weeks making it VERY expensive for my household. The company is very remise in not establishing a recycling program with the vendors who sell the product, like Bed, Bath & Beyond. The vendors should have to take the used filter back for recycling and then issue a discount coupon to the diligent customer who took the time and trouble to recycle. The current recycling program offered by the company is nonsense since the cost and effort of mailing the used filters back to the company is more than the value of the discount coupon they give ($10). Also, their pricing is higher than BBB, especially if you are a member of BBB and automatically receive 20% off all purchases. In other words, it doesn't pay to recycle the filters and this is a total waste.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback on our recycling program. I have forwarded your email to our marketing department that oversees recycling. In the meantime ZeroWater filters are made from #5 plastic and are accepted by most recycling companies.
This filtration system works as advertised. We are very happy with the product.

We have been using this system for a while now and we can't even think to drink the faucet water without going through the filter. It makes the water clean and great tasting

I’ve used zero water filter systems since the 90s! Through 2 carafe pour through systems, water bottle and second, newest 40 cup system. Zero water is the BEST and definitely tastes the BEST!

New version with blue ring an improvement

I unfortunately still have the old ones with the black ring and they lack the foam layer on top so charcoal and the other contents of filter float up out of filter when dispenser being refilled. the floating material makes it look really bad but probably no practical difference.
I have been a loyal Zero Water customer for over 11 years. My first 10 cup pitcher lasted all that time!! However, I am not too happy with the replacement pitcher, and especially distressed over the fact that the new TDS Tester does not function properly. My lesser issue with the pitcher is that it has been redesigned with such a large spout that it is hard to control and spills all over. This is especially true when the pitcher is full. I will get used to it. My major issue is the malfunctioning TDS Tester. Thankfully, I saved my old one. When the new one read 000 the old tester read 004. After making a fresh pitcher, the new tester read 001 and the old tester read 007. Based on my experience as to the average # of pitchers a get per filter, 007 was correct. I am going to ask Zero Water for another Tester. It is part of the package. Very disappointed.
