My husband uses this water exclusively for plain after, coffee or herbal tea. I am not worried about the city water. I keep his supply full and ready at all times.
I have used ZeroWater filter system for YEARS! A couple of my friends are using them at my suggestions. I ordered a whole new system (because the top broke & I cannot find a replacement) which includes a filter .I also ordered 4 additional filters. The filter which came with the unit, did NOT filter water AT ALL! I let it sit in a pan with water in the top (to filter through) for over 48 hours, and it never drained a drop. Of the 4 additional filters I purchased, I opened one and the meter read 028 - BRAND NEW!! I'm using it with chagrin for 3 weeks. It currently reads 032. I have never had the filters so poorly perform. My ratings below are not 5 stars, because of this filter issue...

My tap water tastes pretty good but...

I live in a 250ish TDS area and have to replace the filter more often than I would prefer. I wish the filters were capable of a larger volume of water filtration. However, the filtered water makes all others taste like chemicals. I prefer water that tastes fresh-even given the cost. You can't have your cake and eat it too...

It's true that ZeroWater will not always be the most economical choice. Those with higher TDS levels in their water will notice a shorter filter life because the filter has to work harder to remove all those contaminants. To some, the cost of pure-tasting water is worth it; if not, we completely understand. In this case, we're glad you're satisfied with the quality!
Disappointed with the first filter it only filtered about 8-10 gallons before needing to be replaced.

Filter life may only be 8 to 10 gallons of filtered water per filter if your tap water reads 350ppm or higher. If this is not the case please call customer service at 1-800-503-2939 and we will replace that filter for you right away.
1 filter of the 4 pack was broken and can't be used. The "lip" or "rim" at the base of the threads was broken/cracked in a way that it could not make a firm seal, therefore there was an uncontrollable leak of unfiltered water into the canister. I opened a second filter of the 4 pack and it is working fine with an initial reading of 002 (although I would expect 000). There are 2 more filters remaining that I have not opened to check their condition because I do not want to break the protective seal if i will not be using them for several months.

These last a long time. I test my water before pouring it into the pitcher, get a high number, then test it in the pitcher & get zero. Have been using Zero water for many years, much better than any bottled water. I would like to know how to recycle the used filter, this is why only 4 stars. The filtered water is 5 stars.
Since our purchase of the ZeroWater pitcher we have not had to replace a filter yet. We do have a RO system, and although the RO brings our well water (400 TDS give or take) down to the 25-35 TDS range, we really LOVE that the ZeroWater pitcher brings our water down to ZERO. We don't want to drink any water now but ZeroWater.
