The filter's rubber gasket is too slim, it's very difficult to get a good seal. Some water kept leaking from the filter seal and I had to to detach it and thread it together it several times for a tight fit. The very first filter that came with the water filter jug set had a thicker gasket and sealed easily.

With the new filters generally if you give the filter a good solid extra quarter turn to the right and it will seal up right away.
Now that I've found it, I'm never going to change.

I moved to an urban location, with less than great water. At the same time, I discovered ZeroWater ... so happy that I did. It tastes great, and I have no worries about quality! Can't say enough!
We are in a zone with 3.6 reading. The filter gives a wonderful clear and crisp taste to the water. 1cartridge lasts a bit less than 1month for a family of 2. Then it gives a lemony taste. Time to change it.
I love the Zero water filters but in San Diego area, they only last about 6-7 gallons with tap water TDS readings about 550. I started pre-filtering using a cheap Brita which takes the TDS down to about 400, so that gets me a couple more gallons, but still not anywhere close to 20 gallons. Excellent water quality and I'll still take it! Just wish it lasted a tiny bit longer since I drink this water exclusively.
