I have to “burp” the filter at least once a week to keep it flowing good, basically just squeezing it slightly to force the air out. Somehow air bubbles build inside causing the filter to work slower and slower.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We certainly apologize for the continued frustrations with the filters, generally if you put an inch of water in the reservoir and then grip the middle section of the filter with both hands and firmly squeeze the filter in a pumping action until you are completely certain that there is no more air coming out of the top of the filter this will solve the issue for the life of that filter. If you do not clear all of air from the filter this issue will continue to compound itself over and over. Also never fill the reservoir directly from the faucet or spigot from your sink as this is naturally aerated and will force air down inside the filter. It is best to fill the reservoir with a large glass or measuring cup and pour into the corner of the reservoir away from the center of the filter. If there is ever a filter that simply just will not fix itself when the aforementioned trouble shooting steps have been followed we are more than happy to replace that filter. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Filters leak black material into water

I never pour water directly on top of the filter, always to the side of the pitcher. The first day the water is always great, but by day two there is black material in the water, and previously I just assumed my filter was fine so I have actually drank this stuff. My last five filters have been like this, and I have no clue what I am doing wrong. I would not recommend these products to anyone, which is too bad as the claims and filter design is better than a brita.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We do apologize for the filter having not been rinsed properly, this was an isolated incident with a limited run of filters. Please call us and we will replace any of your filters that had this issue. 1-800-503-2939
I used to love Zerowater and their filters used to be good. Since they are now part of Culligan, something in their filters have changed! I have so much black at t he bottom of my big water dispenser and the water starts tasting funny a couple weeks into using it. I test the water and it reads zero on the meter? Why did you change a good thing?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. An order has been placed for a replacement filter as this is not the norm for our filters. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your business.
This product is in the right price range if you are someone who is concerned about your water. I really love the little meter they send with it so I could check my refrigerator filtered water and tap water. Feel very happy about my purchase. I bought one for my son and his family too
have used these for a long time and most of the time, the filters are great. every now and then, you get a super slow one. the instructions give some tips on how to fix but sometimes it's just slow and i'm too impatient so i end up throwing out every seventh or eighth one early
