The filters besides removing lead etc remove PFAS which is why I bought them. What I didn't like, though I understand that they are more complex than Brita filters, is the price. The carafe could be of a larger capacity. The instrument to measure the level of contamination is really useful.
Sometimes the new filter leaks despite installing it correctly. I don't know if the blue gasket is old and gets dried out or if the paper cover over the top of the filter doesn't protect the gasket well. The product used to come with a plastic blue screw on lid and I never had a problem with those filters. I like filtering my water with this product but I don't want to continue to pay for a product that doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

With the new filters generally if you give the filter a good solid extra quarter turn to the right and it will seal up right away. Do not be concerned with over tightening the filter. If you encounter a filter that simply will not seal no matter how tightly you have screwed in certainly give us a call and we will replace it for you. 1-800-503-2939
