Save your money!!!

Sorry to say that this Sony product was a let down for me. Purchased my original Internet Player less than a year ago and noticed glitches about two weeks into it. Freeze ups was the main issue and it seemed to be due to heat syncing, in other words the box it self would get very hot to the touch. When you have to start unplugging equipment again and again to get them to work, there is an issue. Sent the unit off to repair and receive a replacement unit in short time, less than two weeks. All was well or so it seemed. Here we go again with freeze ups and signal blocking.
Hope your experience is better than what I'm having.

Second Gen Sony Google TV is Even Better

The second generation Google TV is a bit smarter than the first. The set up is easy and remote carries the intuitive character of the first with added features like a traditional synaptic mouse in a more compact package.
I have the first gen Sony, a top line Roku and just installed the latest Google TV this week. It is more advanced than the first and makes a Roku virtually obsolete..
IMHO Sony makes the best streaming tv device on the market among all manufacturers. It is easy to set up and maintain and it has plenty of options to keep you entertained. It is also less expensive than the first gen albeit without a DVD player which is not needed because streaming is the next market direction.

Very bad product

HDMI port does not accept all devices, sometimes even burning HDMI output port devices.
Applications available for this product on play market are very very limited or nonexistent.
The device after a couple of hours overheats a lot.
In my opinion and evaluation Roku outstrips this product.

Best media player Ever!!!!

Very good media player and tv. Very pleased with the purchase. Only concern is response time is not too fast and memory capability for storage it gets low if several apps are inatalled. Overall very good. Well done sony

I had an Smp-n200 media box previously to this one and for $140 less than the Nsz-gs8 is was 100 times better! This device can not connect to a wireless network and when it does, the connection is terrible and drops out consistently. When playing media from a usb or hard drive the audio becomes out of sync with the video. DO NOT PURCHASE!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I receive this as a gift and I have been enjoying this for about 9 months and only thing I wish it have is hulu plus app but other then that I have nothing else to complain about this and I have sony tablet and it work great with nsz gs8 and I have a network harddrive and plays pics, music, video with no problems

Works great

It works great. My whole family use it for everything from surfing the web to watching movies shows and videos on Netflix and Youtube. I have one in the living room and one in my man cave.
I would recommend this to a friend!
