Poor design, craftmanship and very disappointing

My family was looking for a basic, non-HE washer, with simple dials, and no computer (which proved to be a very difficult task). We went with GE for the brand reliability and after 2 years we've had nothing but problems.
The hot water option is frustrating, as it comes out warm and ridiculously slowly (our hot water heater is currently set to "burning"). When the water drains into the drain, there's so much pressure it's caused extrensive damage to the wall due to all the overflowing water (we NEVER had an issue with this with our last top loader or the loaner one we borrowed while shopping for a new washer).
Most recently, the mode shifter no longer attaches to its mounting position and must be manually held (and this is not as simple as it sounds) for the dial to make contact to start a new load.
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS. ITS' NOT EVEN 3 YEARS OLD.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really like this washer. I would buy it again if it was still available. I particularly like the rotary mechanical (non-electronic) controls. The controls allow much better control over water levels and cycle timing. I can was a load of clothes in less than a half hour.

we have had problems since we purchased...can't get Hot water to do certain items have to hold fill to get the washer to load enough water to do the job...not happy and my is even less happy
