Good value, I'm happy.

I've had this for a year and a half. For the price, I'm very happy with the overall performance, and after owning a front load machine for several years, I'm very happy to be back with the old school top loader. There's one thing that bugs me which is that no matter how large the load, it only fills with 5" of rinse water during the rinse cycle. The low water to clothes ratio with the quite robust agitation is not good for the clothing, and also I would prefer to be using more clean rinse water. One other little thing is that there's really not a delicate cycle as far as I am concerned. The delicate cycle causes more soaking and less agitation, but does not use more gentle agitation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unfortunately we've had to have it repaired more than once. Now the bottom scrapes and makes such a loud noise. Repair costs more than the machine is worth.

Not what I expected from GE

I have had my GE washer for a year. It takes at least an hour to run through the wash/rinse cycles and when it spins, I think its ready for "take off."

This is a basic washer with no frills. However it should have a gentle cycle for sensitive garments. The agitator needs great care because it is easily scratched and can cause your clothes to pill. If this happens pull the agitator out and lightly sand the scratches with very fine sandpaper.
