Disappointing washer

I do not like the inability to select the amount of water I want in the washing machine. The washer will not allow me to put extra water in if I have a particularly dirty load. It only will fill to a level barely at the top of the items in the washer. I want ME to decide how much water is in there.

Well, it does clean well, so that is a plus.And it doesn't have any unnecessary controls. It does really squeeeze the water out for sure- however, my clothes have gotten really stretched out during this process it seems. My towels seem to be fraying at the edges all of a sudden, but I do not know if that is purely due to the intense spinning cycle. Also there is no 'gentle' or 'delicate' cycle at all, which I should have noticed before purchasing. It seems somewhat loud.

This washer is terrible!! I should have learned my lesson from years ago when I had another GE washer that I didn't like. Will NEVER buy another one!!!

I had to do a google search to find out how to release cloths that got caught under the agitator. We are not engineering our products to last or even to give us good service. I am selling my house and plan to leave this unit behind. The problem is, there is nothing better to chose from. All these companies own each other so there is no reason for them to give you a Good (acceptable) product.

Bought this washer to replace a sub-standard 2 yr old washer that had a lid that locked, hated it! The GE I bought is quiet but the agitation on all cycles is lacking...

Well priced, medium size, agitator washer. But in 1st few weeks had to call serviceman twice. And it is very loud. Can hear every motor movement and gear change. Obviously, no effort to soundproof.
