Defective out of the box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit was defective out of box and Kitchen Aid would not replace it and after the 1st service call I have to wait a week just for the part and then need to have another service call for a repair for a product that was defective right out of the box
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great addition to our new home. Love the auto feature to start venting when needed. Lighting for night lite or cooking is fabulous. Only negative is the noise volume when vent comes on. Pretty loud.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having choices to use the 2 halogen lights at the front(very bright and helpful when cooking) or the "night light" at the rear is great! Also the fan speeds are wonderful also! The filters are easy to remove and clean.

Great hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this one for more than a year already and very happy with it.
The best feature is a heat sensor. The only thing you need to do when you start cooking is to press 2 buttons: turn on the lights and auto-fan. It will do the rest for you. As soon as it detects heat from the range it will turn on the fan automatically and will adjust it continuously until you done cooking. At the end just turn off the lights (that are very bright by the way) and go have your meal, the hood will continue working until all the heat is gone and then it will turn off automatically. I wish the sensor could detect smell as well!
The fan works great. It's super quiet on low and a bit noisy on high, but because it's so powerful we very rarely have to use anything higher than medium setting. It's more than enough for our 5 burner gas range.
I think it's a bit overpriced for just a motor, fan and some stylish stainless steel metal panels, but it looks so great in the kitchen!
I would recommend this to a friend!
