I have had an older Norelco shaver for at least 5 years. I wanted the newer design and a bit closer shave. Well the looks are great, but taking the head apart every time to clean it is more difficult then necessary. To get a closer shave I have to press harder and in doing so when I hit my jaw area some times it dislodges the whole head. It should be more securely attached. My old shaver had a pop up trimmer this has a good trimmer, but you have to pop the shaving head off and snap in the trimmer. I personally don't like the way this is designed. It works well when trimmer is installed though.
Pros: comfortable to hold
Cons: head pops off when trying to get close shave

Older models gave a closer shave!

I have used Norelco Electric Shavers for many of my 62 years, and am frankly disappointed with this newer addition. Older models had more "float" in the heads, allowing for a closer shave. However, what bothers me most is the difficulty in separating the head from the blades for cleaning. There is no indent for thumbnail to be used in the separation of the two halves of the shaving heads, usually causing the compacted shaved whisker hairs to fly everywhere when you finally pry the two sections apart. Worse yet, the "shaver base" used for storage and charging is a lightweight flimsy joke, and the little suction cups attached to the base are recessed so high up the base, they DO NOT REACH THE COUNTERTOP, making them USELESS ( Very poor design ) ; and causing the base and Shaver to have to be lifted off the counter simultaneously, and separated manually prior to each use. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CHARGER BASE LIFTING, WITH THE UNIT, ON ANY PREVIOUS DESIGN. This unit is my 6th Norelco Shaver, and most likely my LAST!
Pros: love the color & smooth design
Cons: poor design of charge base

I like the overall performance of this product, however, I am not happy with the way it has to be taken apart to be cleaned. Shaved wiskers collect very quickly, two to three days, and it's awkward to clean them out. Storage capacity for wiskers is too small.
Pros: no need to charge frequently, short charging time
Cons: cleaning of unit, flimsy light weight charger

of all the rotary heads, this cuts extremely close and is the easiest to clean and maintain. holds a charge longer than any razor out there.
This product is very versatile and easy to use as it hugs the face and gives a very clean shave. It is also good to use on a wet face with or without shaving gel. I found that it required less goes to get the job done and easier to clean the shaver also. The price is ok for the quality of the product also

I have used Norelco shavers for around 50 years now & my most recent is excellent but I bought a slightly less expensive one 6 months earlier & was not happy with it at all. It was my first Philips/Norelco & I was afraid Philips joining in with Norelco was a bad thing by my most recent purchase is very good.
