Having used a number of electric razors over the years, with just about as many design differences between them, I have so far been most pleased with this model over all the others I have used..EXCEPT and the only reason I give it 3 stars and not 5 is I have not been able to find replacement razor heads for this model as per the directions. They require RQ11, this website does not list them nor does any other store (Wal-Mart's : 5 of them. Meijer : 3 of them). So what's up Philips/Norelco?

I'm 53 and I've tried numerous electric razors (including other Norelco models) in the past. The Norelco 1150X is hands-down the best I've ever used. You can use the razor either wet or dry. I normally use it in conjunction with regular shaving cream (I use Edge) which makes for a very comfortable shaving experience. The razor provides an extremely close shave and conforms well in problem areas. There is a design flaw in the switch covering, which cracked in my unit and resulted in product failure, but Norelco sent me a replacement razor, no questions asked. My guess is that this flaw has been corrected in current production. Excellent product and value.
Pros: quiet, very close shave, excellent customer service
One of the best shavers I have ever bought! Care of it is almost nonexistent. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am so disappointed in this product... guess it would be great for the young first time shaver.. great feel, charges nice... but as for close as a razor... not on my face.. I have used Norelco since I was in my teens.. proir to this i owned the Smart Touch.. worked pretty good.. I wanted to move into the newer styes.. big mistake.. I would not recommend this one if you want a clean shave and you actually have growth.. I am now afraid to upgrade to anything else.. in fear all the new razors are not up to their older models....
Cons: doesn't clean your face.. no razor comparison her

I used a Norelco some years ago, but decided to try a Foil razor instead. I bought a Braun series 3, and was reasonably happy with it. As the shave degraded with time, I replaced the head for it, but this did not seem to restore the original shave I remembered. So, since the heads are expensive, I went past the recommended time to change it. Last week, I shaved with it and thought it was really rough feeling - then discovered that the foil had shredded on one end, leaving little sharp ends sticking up that were lacerating my face! I have delayed replacing the heads on a Norelco before, and the shave does degrade - but I have NEVER had one cut my face like this.
Never again, guys! NO MORE looking around; I am resolved to never use any electric razor other than a Norelco!
Pros: comfortable, fast, easy to clean, affordable, quiet
Cons: i have not yet found any

NOW HERE IS THE BEST PART. ON MY CALLS FOR COMPLAINT, I WAS TREATED VERY FAIRLY. NORELCO HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY CHOICE IN SHAVERS. IM OVER 70 yrs old and have owned a good many. Every unit has been great before this one. First of all they sent me new blades, as mine was just not cutting (did not like the cost of having to change blades every six months. VERY COSTLY. ThEn as earlier stated, the on off switch split. NORELCO REPLACED THE HANDLE AT NO COST TO ME. FINIALLY JUST GAVE UP ON THIS SHAVER, HAVING FOUGHT HUNDREDS OF FINE CITS ON MY FACE.THERE WERE OTHER PROBLEMS.
HERE IS MY MESSAGE.......PHILLIPS IS NOW REPLACING THIS UNIT WITH AN OLDER MODEL, AS I HAD BEFORE. THE OLD ONE I HAVE, WILL OUTDO IN CUTTING AND TRIMMING 10 to 1'. I think this is a major company that listens to their loyal customers And then does every thing possible to SATISFY THAT CUSTOMER. THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST COMPANIES I HAVE EVER DEALTH WITH.
THIS IS A COMPANY THAT TRAINS THERE CUSTOMER REPS TO BE SO NICE AND PLEASANT DURING MY CALLS TO THEM. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A SHAVER WITH ANT OTHER COMPANY.
