I am disappointed in this model

I have used Norelco electric razors for over 35 years and have always been happy with the models I purchased until this one. The first week or so, I got a really close shave in just a few minutes. After that point, I cannot get a close shave to save my life. I clean the razor head daily to keep the heads from clogging up with hair.
Now I have to run the razor over my face for at least 10 minutes before I can get a so-so shave. I can still feel stubble after I am through shaving. Maybe I just got a bad set of blades. The razor is only two or three months old. Normally, I don't have to buy new blades for a year or more. I am very disappointed in this product.

I have used Norelco razors for many years and this is the zenith among those I have tried and used, including most of the competitive razors. It is quiet, easy to hold and use and the shave is the closest and most comfortable I have had with an electric razor.
Pros: most everything is good.
Cons: retaining ring, the green retaining ring is the only weak part of

It doesn't shave as close as suggested. It doesn't seem to cut without going over the area two or three times.
Cons: it takes longer to get a good clean close shave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not equal to a blade but OK

I would like to have been able to compate this to another brand. I does a fair job. Some parts of the face are handled better than others. I got this razor because my cheeks were getting more and more razor burn. That problem is solved. However, some areas are not shaved very well.
Also, I learned after purchasing this product that you cannot replace the battery. Must replace entire razor when the battery goes. Fair enough, but no where was that mentioned when I was shopping for the product. I would have appreciated a warning aabout this.

Excellent electric shaver!

I purchased this shaver to replace my 25 year old Norelco Triple Header that finally passed on. Shaves are fast, reasonably close and comfortable. The shaver feels good to hold and looks great. Cleaning is fast and easy. It doesn't shave as close as a blade but what electric shaver does? Overall, I like it and recommend it.
Pros: close comfortable shave., easy to clean.
Cons: not as close as a blade.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Okay, I don't do reviews that often. However, it seemed important to do this one because I missed something prior to making my purchase of Philips Norelco 6100 Electric Shaver.
I'm not unhappy with the Philips Norelco line of electric shavers. Their reputation and reliability deserves mentioning. Also, I received many positive recommendations by friends.
When making my final decision/purchase though, I overlooked the importance of floating heads! Having sensitive skin, it would have been better to choose floating shaver heads over the flexible neck and plastic triangular base of the 6100. The 6100 doesn't cut as close because there's more plastic in contact with your skin than razors! Other than that the 6100 does do what it's supposed to do. It charges quickly and the battery last even longer than listed. With that being said, I should have chose another model for a closer and more comfortable shave!

The battery life is great! I use the shaver everyday and only charge it once every 9 or 10 days! I have sensitive skin and have always had problems shaving till now! Thank you so much for this lightweight, easy to use design Phillips norelco!
