I'm a black guy with course facial hair and this electronic razor works just fine. Ive found that the keys to the best shave is have a good shaving cream and learning the contours of your face. Also helpful to have a straight razor on hand for those hairs that the shaver misses.

Good Shave but with inconvience

I got this to replace another Philips Norelco razor which would no longer charge. This model has heads that have to be changed to use a trimmer and also has no travel case. I also note that this unit needs to be charged almost three times as often as my old razor and requires a charging stand rather than just a cord. The razor gives a good shave but I would not buy it again, I would opt for the more expensive model with greater battery life, built-in trimmer and travel case.
Pros: shave is as close as my previous razor
Cons: short battery life, separate trimmer which requires changing the heads, charging stand rather than cord

This Christmas present replaced straight razors when I found out how close a shave it delivers. I prefer to wet shave and it works well. I also like how quickly it cleans up and how quickly it recharges. Excellent technology!
Pros: close shave, quick cleanup, fast recharge

Doesn't cut through thick hair, If you are above 18 don't get it! Won't shave a mans beard!!!

Not as good as the previous shower model

Clean out fast and well
sometimes hard to get cutter off head.
I worry about head not staying on the shaver but has not been a problem.
This head design does not seem as efficient as the previous model I had which was the first wet shower design.
