Outer casing keeps you from shaving close to things like your nose, but then you might get use to that half mustache under your nose. Cutting surface used to be 360 degrees per head. No idea what the designers are trying to accomplish.
I had an older version of the cordless shaver from Phillips. When the charge was depleted, I could attach the charge cord and plug the shaver in to charge up. During this time, I was able to use the shaver and as soon as I was finished it would then start charging up the batteries in the shaver. I miss that. Now, if the batteries run out, I have to wait 10 minutes till I can turn on the shaver and shave like I used to and then continue charging the batteries. I think that you have gone in reverse with this move. I'm not happy with that.
Cons: must charge a discharged battery before shaving.
Cost as much as the replacement head for my other Norelco and the heads cost half as much as the whole unit. Hope it last longer than the other that cost nearly 4 times as much but only last about 1.5 years.

Overall, the razor is fine. The cutter head does not pick up the whiskers as well as my old one did when it was new. I have a little trouble with ingrown whiskers below the jaw on both sides and it does not work well to get them, even when they are lifted out of the skin. I like being able to rinse the razor and to use it wet.
I had a Cool Skin razor that lasted almost 10 years. This one works as well, seems a little easier to clean. I don't miss the lotion feature. Hopefully this one continues to serve for years.
Looks like shaving heads from you older shavers. Sometimes hard to get the last hair. Didn't come with nice carrying case from earlier shavers. Water resistant is nice.
