Have been using a simply razor for years and decided to try out this shaver. I normally shave everyday in the morning, decided to try this shaver in order to save time. I have thick coarse hair on my face. Can get a decent sized beard in around 10 days.
Used this shaver daily for 3 weeks straight but was unable to get a nice clean shave, found myself spending 2x-3x as much time getting a poorer shave. Ended up having to clean up using a razor. The shaver left many patches of hair behind or was unable to get a close shave. I tried shaving with and without shaving cream, before and after showering, made no difference, was still unable to get a close shave.
I believe this shaver is only meant for those with thin or spotty facial hair. Still looking for a shaver that will work well.
The 45 day money back guarantee was nice but I had to pay for shipping!
Pros: design of shaver is nice, comfortable hold, pop up trimmer
Cons: not a close shave., difficult getting a uniform shave patchy spots, a bit overpriced, blades on shaver underperform, does not work well on coarse hair
The packaging claims this shaver will get the long hairs and the short ones. While it's not perfect at that, it does the best job at getting the pesky whiskers than any other shaver I've used and matches or beats them all on closeness. Also nice is the fact that it's quiet.
I have a very tough beard and this is the first electric razor I have ever owned that actually gives me a comfortable shave. Not as close as a standard razor, but frankly even those give me a 5 o'clock shadow by 2 p.m., as I said, tough beard. Have not tried it with lather yet, but the dry shave is very comfortable and it takes me only about 4 minutes or so to shave.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Norelco 4400 shaver is a replacement for my 8825XL shaver after about 25 years of use. Only reason for the change the battery was only holding a charge for a few days. One comment - I only changed blades once with the 8825XL about 6 years ago. Comparing the old and new shaver the results is pretty much the same. Thus I am wondering why Norleco is recommending a blade change every year - seems a very excessive considering the results I had with the old shaver.
