This product is not as good as an older Norelco re-chargeable razor I have.

My previous Norelco product was superior to the one being rated here in that it was significantly easier to clean and it kept me abreast of the amount of the current charge (through a series of five little lights). It also shaved at least as closely as the product reviewed here.
Pros: free through another product's frequent user progr
This is a great shaver. Very quiet, gives you a close shave and really gets the job done. And it charges very quickly and maintains a charge for a good length of time
Purchased the Norelco 5100 Wet & dry electric shaver to replace my old Norelco Speed XL which finally stopped working after 10 years. I just wish you could shave with it plugged in when the battery runs low like I could with my old Speed XL.
Razor is to be running at a very low RPS there for does not give a very good shave.

Hi LSUtiger,
Thanks for taking a minute to share your experience with this shaver on here. It's however unfortunate to learn that you haven't been too happy with it so far. Please do make sure that the shaver is fully charged, to make sure it's not due to a low charge that the RPM seems low. If you do feel there's something wrong with the functionality of the device itself. Please do not hesitate to contact us via Facebook (@Philips) or Twitter (@PhilipsCare). We're available 24/7.
Kind regards,

Ive been using this razor for 2 months now. wet and dry. when using it dry it does not get a close shave and give you major razor burn. feels like it pulls the hair out rather than cut it. using it wet is not much better. shaving with shaving cream helps with razor burn but it still pulls hair instead of cutting. overall I think it just gonna be a dust collector for me don't recommend it at all. would trade it for razor heads any day.
Pros: rechargable battery, cool color
Cons: pulls not cuts, razor burn

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us. We are not happy to read about your experience with the Philips Aqua Touch shaver. You may adapt the below given steps for best shaving technique and get good results. You can move the shaving heads over the skin, making both straight and circular movements to get the best shave. To prevent damage, we would suggest you to put the protection cap on the shaver after use.

Painful process for less-than-stellar results

I had the pleasure (questionable...) of receiving this implement of torture for Christmas from my godmother this year. I was very eager to use this; I had very high standards, given the amount of positive reviews of the shaver. AquaTec?! Easy to hold grip?! Molds to the face?! I thought, "This razor is going to be GREAT."
Boy, was I wrong!
AquaTec? It seems like the engineering was just a fancy vibrating hole. Nothing was shaved. Nothing was touched. Of course, I tried and tried again. Nothing. I needed to pick up my ol' reliable manual in order to remedy the bad paint job.
Easy to handle grip? ...are you kidding me? Multiple times, the grip slipped out of my hands. My hands are rigid. I don't even drop the soap. How could I drop this in the shower?!
Alas, the CareTouch feature... Unless my razor was nothing short of a sadist tool of desperation, the design was careless. My face is not shaped like a box. It is a face.
Overall, this product is useless. It's a status marker. It's a tool just to maximize the amount of hours spent in the bathroom. It's not at all pleasurable. It's not fun.
The power cord slips out- On and off button is hard to find.

Iv had this razor (actually it is the older generation, dry only, same razor though) for over 5 years now and I use it every single day. Being in the military I have to keep a clean shave and this razor certainly does the job. Its cheap compared to how much I used to spend on Mach 3 blades. The new bladed razors are getting way out of hand with the pricing. Anyways, great shaver I hope it lasts for another 5 years.
