Unable to charge upon opening package

Bought this shaver about 2 years ago. Put it aside and forgot about it until last weekend when the shaver I have been using died. Congratulated myself for having a brand newT893 as unable to go shopping during this COVID 19 lock down. The brand new unit
did not power on. Tried to charge it, indicator light didn't go on. Left it on charger for more than 24 hours, still not charging. Tested the charger with voltmeter, charger OK. Obviously battery died. Unfortunately, don't have a receipt for warranty claim, my fault. Hate to throw away a brand new, still in original packing shaver away. I am just one of the unlucky guys to have bought a Philip's shaver with faulty battery.

Bought an AquaTouch
Wet and dry electric shaver AT893/20 about 2 years ago. Put it away till last weekend when my more than 10 years shaver (not a Philips) auto start itself at night, still usable though. Congratulated myself for having the AT893 standby during this COVID19 lockdown, no shopping. Took the new shaver out, no power. Hooked it up to the charger, no indicator light. Left it on the charger for more than 24 hours, still not charging. Tested the charger with the voltmeter, charger OK. Obviously, the battery is faulty. Unfortunately, no receipt, lost during my move to my new home, NO WARRANTY claim possible. Checked reviews about this model, there have been a few complaints about this battery problem, one also did not charge on first use. Surprised Philips allows this to happen. Very disappointed. Hate to throw a brand new shaver away, very environmentally UNFRIENDLY!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love being able to wash my face and shave at the same time each day. I can also take it in the shower with me as needed. It is so easy to clean and the charge is good for hours on end. I can honestly say that I love this product and I have been instrumental in several friends purchasing one for them selves
