However, I, do not like the swivel head. The the AT810 was best shaver ever and did not have the swivel head. The 830 is the same except for the swivel head. The 830 does a great job too though.

The most expensive lift and cut so far.

I started using the Norelco 'lift and cut' razors in 1983. Inflation has invented less razor for the same money. The cord powered Norelco' shavers had their turn...the blades cost almost as much as the razor, so new razor, after razor. after razor. Two weeks ago my wife insisted a new Norelco wet/ dry razor would be her Christmas gift. After charging, I felt something different in my hand...the original size, weight and power were back in my new Norelco. When finished, push a conveniently located button to release the blade container and let it lay back...run the razor blades and hair bin under warm water, close the lid back into place, 'click', shake gently on a towel and let it all dry for thirty minutes with the lid open. Great, fast and comfortable shave. Hope this model stays around for a decade or so.
Pros: quality waterproof powerful

I was looking for a shave that would be as close as a blade but would save me money over time.

I happened to see the Norelco 810 Aquatec while picking up some refill blades for my Fusion. After reading the specs and the 45 day money back program from Norelco I felt I should give it a try. It would pay for itself in 3-4 packs of blades and about 6 months time. What really pushed me to try it was that its construction is 100% waterproof. I had purschased another well known brand of electric razor a few years ago. It could only be used dry and there were several areas that were very hard to shave. I couldn't be happier with this Norelco Aquatec. It shaves closer than any blade I have ever used and it is very comfortable with shaving cream or gel. I really had my doubts before trying this Norelco but now I am totally sold and will never buy another expensive razor blade refill again.
Pros: very easy to clean and recharge.
Cons: none

Great Razor for First Time 94 Yr. Old User

My father-in-law did not want to switch to an electric razor, even at the age of 94 and in assisted living. Finally he cut himself with his blade razor and agreed to try an electric. I looked on the internet and found this one. He loves it.
It's easy to use (even with hand tremors), the shave is very close..similar to the blade shaver, it's easy to clean (under the water faucet) and is very quiet. In fact when his hearig aid was malfunctioning he couldn't tell if the razor was on or not.
The only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is that it's a bit trickey to turn on for him given the recessed button (practice should help) and the button to open it for cleaning is fairly flush with the razor itself. Did not try the trimmer as he won't be using that.

Could be a great razor if it performs as advertised.

I have a fairly prominent Adam's apple (not Ichibod Crane, but no Daniel Craig either). For my face I have two issues: Can't get the hairs around the afore-mentioned, usually end up cutting those hairs with a small pair of shears.
Secondly, I have whiskers that grow in swirls on my neck - this razor just doesn't perform well. I end up hurting my neck, back to the shears again. It has a nice heft, works great on flat surfaces, does not work a patoot on curves and swirls. I may buy another of the same model when the time comes; hopefullu enough users will grouse about the same issues I have.
Cons: cuts the skin on my neck, my rating is average -- poor design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall Good Value for your Dollar

Wife bought me the razor at Costco and it came with a few accessories. I am not a electric razor kind of guy, but I like the ability to use it in the shower with shaving cream and surprisingly it shaved quite close.
As someone who travels excessively it's nice to have and packs nice as well. I am looking forward to continued use.
Pros: reasonable price, wet/dry shave, close shave for electric shaver
Cons: could stand to be a little smaller

I purchased this razor after using two previous models of wet-dry Norelco shavers.Best one I have used so far.The only disappointment Ihave is the lack of visable warning of discharge.
