Great Toothbrush
on April 30, 2016

I received my Sonicare Plaque Control Toothbrush earlier this week as a free sample in leau of an honest review. I am really happy with this toothbrush. It is quiet but strong. The toothbrush has a lot of power and leaves my mouth feeling refreshed. I love that it has the built in 2 minute timer too. I can really feel a difference on my teeth, as they are super smooth and clean. I also like that the brush is not bulky. It doesn't take up too much room. I recommend this toothbrush for anyone in search of a good power brush.

Great powerful toothbrush for a great price

I received this Plaque Control Toothbrush as a free sample to review, and I was very impressed. I have not owned an electric toothbrush before, so this was all new to me. All you had to do to put it together was snap on the interchangeable brush, super easy. The brush itself is pretty powerful. Going from a normal toothbrush to electric was interesting. It took a little getting used to the vibration and power, but I grew to love it. This toothbrush has an automatic shut off after two minutes, and even beeps every thirty seconds so you know to switch to a different area of your mouth. My teeth feel so much cleaner now, and they even look whiter. You get a nice deep clean with minimal effort. I am highly satisfied with this electric toothbrush, and will never go back to a regular toothbrush again.
Pros: easy to use, powerful cleaning
Cons: hard to get used to the vibration

First time trying electric and it's great

This toothbrush is really great. I had never used an electric toothbrush before and you can really feel the difference. Teeth feel real clean after using. I plan to keep using an electric toothbrush. The only weird thing is keeping the toothpaste on the brush at first because it's so tiny the toothpaste is hard to distribute in my mouth. I received a free sample for providing an open and honest review of the product.
Pros: battery holds charge for many uses
Cons: hard to distribute toothpaste around the mouth

Effective Nice Toothbrush
on May 1, 2016

I have been using expensive high-end and mid range electric toothbrushes of another popular brand for over ten years but I have never used a Sonicare before. I have always heard positive things about Sonicare so I was looking forward to trying this toothbrush I received a free sample of to review.
This model comes with a 14 day EasyStart program to gradually adjust the power level in order to get used to the toothbrush. Since I am already accustomed to using an electric toothbrush I didn’t feel the brush was very effectively cleaning my teeth with the EasyStart so I turned it off. I was glad there was the option to turn off this feature but think anyone who is new to electric toothbrushes will really like this feature.
It takes a long time to reach a full charge, 48 hours, but it holds a charge well. Also if desired you can store it on the charger so it shouldn’t ever die.
Like all electric toothbrushes I have used the toothpaste can spray about so I turn it on after it’s in my mouth.
I really like how gentle and soft the bristles of the toothbrush feel! It is very comfortable to use, feels really good along my gums, and I enjoy using the brush. I felt like the brush was definitely adequate in cleaning my teeth. Like any electric toothbrush I’m sure the efficacy goes down if the toothbrush head is old so it should be replaced regularly.
My past two electric toothbrushes (both higher end and similar price point) of a different brand have had pressure sensors to alert me if I am pressing too hard, I missed this feature while using this Sonicare model. However, the Sonicare seems to be gentler so the feature may not be as necessary.
My biggest complaint is that the toothbrush turns itself off after two minutes. I frequently brush my teeth longer than two minutes and it was annoying to have to turn it back on and then off myself. Dental professionals recommend bushing for at least two minutes, and if you follow the smart timer brushing instructions in the user manual for this brush it doesn’t include brushing the chewing surfaces (which definitely need to be brushed) of your teeth in the allotted two minutes. I like to divide my mouth in quadrants upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right and brushing all surfaces of those teeth in each 30-second increment in order to feel like I reached all surfaces of my teeth in the two minutes. I wish the automatic turn off were a feature I could disable like the EasyStart feature.
Another complaint, to no real fault of this toothbrush, is that I don’t like the feeling if the hard back of the toothbrush head touches teeth on my opposing arch. So I’ve gotten used to holding my mouth open slightly wider when brushing to avoid this.
The brush head easily rinses clean and I have had no problems with toothpaste building up, or dripping down the handle, etc.
Overall I like this toothbrush and it works very well! This is my preferred electric toothbrush around this price point.

Power toothbrush review
on May 2, 2016

The decision to use a power toothbrush seemed to be a good one when I sent a free sample to review. I like the idea that it automatically runs for 2 minutes to help ensure that I am brushing for the time suggested. It also seems to assist in ensuring that hard to brush areas are reached. It also required less toothpaste. I'm not sure where the on/off button could be relocated, but I kept turning off the toothbrush accidentally by hitting the button. Also, I would have preferred a larger brush. One final concern, the handle felt uncomfortable and heavy when holding.
Pros: timed brushing
Cons: location of on/off button, weight

Sonicare has better products

I can only compare the Sonicare 2 to my previous model Essence. The essence is only rated for 2x plague removal and the Sonicare 2 is rated at 6x. In my opinion the Essence does a much better job at cleaning. I have returned the Sonicare 2 under the 90 day return policy and will stay with the Essence model
Pros: small handle, 15 second timer
Cons: does not clean well, brush head design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
