Does just what it says

I was sent the Sonicare toothbrush as a sample to use for this review. I was previously using a battery powered electric toothbrush, so this toothbrush was sort of a step up for me, or so I thought. With regard to its claim of removing six times more plaque than a manual toothbrush, I would have to agree that it does, although I can't say it removes any more plaque than my other, battery powered electric toothbrush. For me, the pros are: - it looks great. My other toothbrush looks cheap it comparison - it works. It cleans my teeth better than a manual toothbrush. - I don't have to worry about the battery, as I simply keep it plugged in whenever I'm not using it. The power outlet is right next to the vanity in my bathroom, so it's very convenient. I suppose if I had a strangely placed outlet in my bathroom, I would probably forget to charge it and end up using up the battery. On the other hand: - the brush head is small. The brush head on my battery powered toothbrush is almost twice as big. - I find it difficult to get the toothpaste on my teeth. This may be testament to the Sonicare's excellent and rapid brushing power, but I feel like I use twice as much toothpaste as with my other brush, and that I end up swallowing a lot of it. Overall, I do think it cleans my teeth well, and I'll continue to use it and work on my toothpaste retention skills. I would be interested in buying larger brush heads if they became available.
Pros: it looks great, it works. cleans better than a manual toothbrush, i don't have to worry about the battery
Cons: the brush head is small, difficult to get toothpaste on teeth
the product actually makes brushing my teeth a pleasure.

I had one of the original sonicare brushes for many years. In fact, I actually wore it out. So I bought a new one. The slimmer design and lighter weight make it easier to use than the old one. As a bonus, the dark blue matches my bathroom decor perfectly. I also like the smaller head size, because I have a small mouth.

Sonic is the Clean Feeling!

For the last week, I have been using the Sonic Plaque Control Toothbrush that I received as a free sample and I must say “I really like it”! My teeth have never felt cleaner. It was charged and ready to use straight out of the package. A brief review of the instructions, a quick assembly of putting the brush onto the unit and I was brushing. At first the vibration was a little intense because I had never used an electronic toothbrush before, it wasn’t uncomfortable it almost felt like a tickling feeling. Since I have always used a standard, non-electric toothbrush, the weight of the Sonic Plaque Toothbrush is noticeably heavier, but very easy to get used to. Fits very well in my hand as you can see from the image below. The toothbrush itself I noticed was much smaller than I am used to but it gets the job done. The Sonic toothbrush is preset to measure your brush time by four quadrants. It makes a slightly different vibration as your brushing to indicate it’s time to move on. This is very helpful and makes your cleaning time more efficient. Overall, I really enjoy using this product and I will continue to use it in my overall oral care. Hopefully my dentist notices the difference too.

Excellent, clean feel after a brushing!

I received this Sonicare Plaque Control Toothbrush in exchange for my review and I must say, I'm impressed! For the suggested price point, I think this is a pretty great product! Out of the box, there is the toothbrush head and a cover, the toothbrush base with battery, and a charging base with the cord. The head does not spin, but the bristles vibrate rapidly back and forth, enough to actually send a small jet of saliva and toothpaste through any spaces between my teeth if I'm holding it just right. The strength of the vibration did seem strong at first, but after a few days of getting used to it, it was quite tolerable. The one brush head provided in the package is small and shaped in somewhat of a diamond shape. This makes it easy to reach to the back of my mouth and not seem like I'm going to gag myself. This model has a 2 minute timer, and it briefly pauses/beeps every 30 seconds to remind you to move to one of four sections that the instruction manual suggests you divide your brushing into. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and will definitely make this a part of my dental hygiene routine.
Pros: small head, timer
Cons: intensity but gets better with time

Takes some getting used to

Heads up! I received this item for free in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. Got it? OK, let's move on.
When I first received my Sonicare Plaque Control Toothbrush, I was very excited. I have an Oral-B Vitality electric toothbrush that I use, but have been very interested about how the Sonicare brushes work. I will compare them briefly in my breakdown of the good, the bad, and the...interesting.
The Good: The brush is very quiet; it is much quieter than my other electric toothbrush. It also charges very quickly. The packaging states that you can store it on the charger, so I'm assuming that you cannot damage the battery by overcharging. It has an indicator light to show when it is charging and when it is fully charged. The small brush head gets into hard-to-reach areas and behind my teeth. And finally, my favorite feature: it has a thirty second "quadrant" timer. What is that, you ask? Well, break your mouth up into 4 quadrants. Front top, front bottom, back top, and back bottom. The brush has a two minute timer to make sure you spend a full two minutes brushing, but it also pauses briefly every thirty seconds to remind you to switch quadrants. This is helpful if you are one of those people that spends a lot of time brushing in the front and forgets about those pesky molars. I love this feature.
The Bad: Honestly, I felt that it didn't get my teeth as clean as my Oral-B Vitality. My front teeth didn't have that "shiny" feeling I usually get after brushing. I also wish that the 2 minute timer just gave a pronounced pause without shutting off entirely. I tend to brush for more than two minutes and it annoyed me slightly that I had to restart the toothbrush.
The...Interesting: OK, honestly, I didn't think I was going to be able to use this toothbrush. While the Oral-B has a brush head where the bristles spin, the Sonicare Plaque Control toothbrush vibrates the entire head very quickly. I found that I was very sensitive to this kind of touch. I literally was being tickled so intensely on my first few uses that I was crying. CRYING. I almost gave up and gave the toothbrush to my husband. I had him try it, but he said the vibrating didn't bother him, so I decided to try again. Anytime I touched the inside of my lips or the hard palete behind my upper teeth, I could hardly bear the tickling. It got better...eventually. But I had to work hard to not give up. So if you have any touch sensitivities or notice that it tickles slightly if you quickly run your tongue over your lips or gums, you might have some getting used to with this toothbrush.
Pros: quiet, small brush head gets into tight areas, easy fast charging, quadrant timer
Cons: didn't leave teeth feeling clean, shuts off after 2 minutes, takes some getting used to
This product, I feel, really cleans your teeth! My complaint is that the toothpaste does not stay on the toothbrush--- The pressure of the brush feels like it is doing a good job cleaning my teeth---there has got to be an easier way to keep the toothpaste on the brush!
Pros: your teeth feel really clean after you use it!
Cons: the toothpaste jiggles off the toothbrush
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received a free sample of the Sonicare Plaque Control Toothbrush to review and I could not have been more pleased with the product. I have used an electric toothbrush before and noticed quite the difference in the cleanliness of my teeth from a standard toothbrush. The Sonicare Plaque Control Toothbrush exceeded my expectations compared to my current toothbrush I was using at home. It began with a very easy assembly of the product and actually had come precharged when I opened the package so I could use it right away. When attaching the toothbrush head, it easily went into place and I didn`t have to bother with twisting and turning it in place to work properly. When I turned it on, the toothbrush was not too loud compared to other electric toothbrushes I have used in the past. The toothbrush has a timer built in so it allows you to focus on a portion of your mouth for 30 seconds for each quadrant for a total of two minutes of brushing. I`m not sure if it is completely necessary to have four 30 second intervals. Two intervals would suffice; one for the top and one for the bottom of the mouth. My teeth felt very clean after brushing. The base that held my brush seemed to work well, however when placed on top of my vanity (a place a need to store it to eliminate clutter on my sink) it tipped over a few times. I compared the base to my current toothbrush base and noticed it was much lighter. Again, not a huge issue, just something I noticed. You would have to find a place to store the toothbrush that is very level so it doesn`t tip over multiple times. Finally, I liked how the Sonicare Plaque Control Toothbrush doesn`t have a lot of grooves on the exterior of the product for mold or old toothpaste to linger or grow. That was nice to be able to keep the product clean after use. Overall, I was very pleased with this product. I feel it is a good value and would highly recommend it to someone looking for an electric toothbrush.
